Shut Em Down Part 1

SCENE 1:
Early morning at TA

[ Mark is sitting at his desk
when his office phone rings. ]

MARK: Hey Jim, how’s it
going?

JIM: Good, good.  You get my
email this morning?
MARK: Of course.  I told all the
shift managers about the new
TA credit already.
JIM: That was fast.  I really want
our employees to push this to
the customers so I’ve came
up with a little incentive.
MARK: Oh yeah, what does it
Involve.
JIM: Well, whatever team between
nights, days, and the Salon gets
the most sign ups this season
will get a $1 raise.

[ Mark opens the door to his
office.  Looking down at the store
he notices a new cashier who
sees him and waves. ]

I’ll have the results at the end
of March.  Got it?

MARK: Sure do and you can
count on days to win.  I gotta
go Jim.  Something just
came up downstairs.

SCENE 2:
Up front at TheAisles.

[ Monica is clocking out for
break.  Then she walks outside,
looking around the parking lot.

Suddenly her new fiancé appears,
handing her a bag & they kiss. ]

MONICA: You’re so sweet babe.
Thanks for bringing me lunch.
KYLE: No problem.  I’m actually
on my way to an interview.
MONICA: That’s great news!
KYLE: I know.  That gym that I
go to all the time asked me
last night if I ever thought of
being a personal trainer.
MONICA: Sounds good.  I’m
just glad you’ll be keeping
your clothes on from now
on.

[ She winks at him. ]

MONICA: So who’s your best
man?  Have you decided yet?
KYLE:  Well, Marty I’ve known
for longer but then Landyn hit
me with the whole I probably
will never have a wedding
of my own.  So I’m not sure
yet.
MONICA:  Well, go with your
heart.  I’m sure whoever you
don’t choose will be just as
supportive.
KYLE:  Yeah.  [He looks down.]

SCENE 3:
At a local call center.

[ LeeVigh is on the phone dealing
with a frantic customer. ]

LEEVIGH: Oh sure. I’d be upset
too if I was being overcharged.

Let me just look into your billing
for a second and find out where
the problem is.

[ Leevigh is silent for a couple
moments looking over the account. ]

LEEVIGH:  I see that you haven’t been
making full payments for months.
It also appears that you are going
over your minutes as well.

We could put you in a plan that
would better suit your usage
but we would need a payment
on the past due balance.

[ Minutes later LeeVigh is talking
to his neighbor. ]

LEEVIGH: God, this woman was
getting on my last nerve!
FRIEND: Yeah, I heard you cuss her
out on mute.

[ Suddenly LeeVigh’s team leader
Tessa comes over. ]

TESSA: Hey Lee, I’m ready for
your interview.

SCENE 4:
Back inside TA.

[ Mark is downstairs staring at
the new cashier when Hahn
interrupts him. ]

HAHN: You and Jim have a nice
chat?
MARK: Oh yeah.  Ever since we
entered the top 3 grocery chains
in the state, he’s been all over
my ass to keep it going.
By the way, that doesn’t look like
our Syria.

HAHN: Oh yeah.  That’s our new
cashier, Lacey.
MARK: Lacey, huh?

[ Mark starts walking toward
her. ]

“Hey, I’m Mark.  The manager.
It’s nice to meet you.”

[ He reaches out his hand, not
taking his eyes off & examining
the young females body.  Hahn
sees & passes by them. ]

[ coughing ] HAHN: Ski

. . .watch it.

[ But Mark ignores him. ]

SCENE 5:
Back at the call center.

[ Inside the manager office,
Leevigh is instructed to sit
down in the chair. ]

LEEVIGH: Are you sure your
boss doesn’t mind me
sitting in her chair?
TESSA: Don’t worry about it.
She’s gone on lunch.

[ Suddenly the light flickers
off as Tessa gets situated. ]

TESSA: Damn, I knew that
was gonna happen.

[ She grabs a light bulb out
of the drawer and gets up
on the desk. ]

TESSA: Could you hold my
legs steady while I do this?
I don’t wanna fall.

LEEVIGH: Sure, I guess.

[ He stands up nervously,
trying hard not to stare. ]

SCENE 6:
Back in Mark’s office.

HAHN: Earth to Simon.
Did you forget about
someone back there?
MARK: Of course not.
You know I love Ski.
HAHN: Then what’s the
deal boss?
MARK: I don’t know, man.  I mean,
I was married for 10 years.
Then I met Ski & now I feel
like I’m backtracking.  Its
difficult liking both.
HAHN: Maybe you should
talk to Amber.

See how she deals.
MARK: Yeah, maybe.

[ An hour later, Mark dials his
best friend. ]

MARK: Hey Acer, what do
you think about hitting up
the casino this weekend?

I need to get some stuff
off my mind.

SCENE 7:

[ LeeVigh is helping Tessa
down & they end up facing
each other. ]

LEEVIGH: So, I believe you had
some questions to ask me.
I’m really wanting to get off
the phones.

And I think I would be a great
team leader.  I mean, I know
most everyone and I’m always
answering questions.

TESSA: Yeah, yeah.  Stop talking
please.

[ She sits at the desk across from
him. ]

LEEVIGH: What?
TESSA:  You heard me.  Less talking.
More of this.

[ She leans over & starts kissing
LeeVigh.  Suddenly the office
door opens, but they don’t
hear. ]

“What the hell is going
on in here?”
