" Save Me "

SCENE 1

‘So this is what
you’ve been up
to since Airynn
got you canned?’

MARKIS: Yup,
that little snitch
did me a favor
actually.
LARRIE: I see.
MARKIS: It’s cool
though man.
Karma’s a bitch.

Anyway, this is
Tiesun. . .she’ll
hook you up.

[ He leaves &
Tiesun smiles
at Larrie ]

TIESUN: So. . .
Here’s a sample
of our home
grown strain.

[ She puts a bud
and a cigarillo on
the counter. . . ]

LARRIE: Sorry,
but I have no idea
how to. . .
TIESUN: It’s fine,
I’ll do everything
but smoke it for
you.

[ She smiles and
Larrie watches
intrigued. . . ]

SCENE 2

‘It’s been two
whole weeks.
No text, no calls
. . .it’s just weird.’

JOH: You dumped
him dude. I think
some space would
be a good thing.
WEIS: I know, but
what if something
serious happened?

JOH: Listen, Landyn’s
more than a grown
man. It’s not your
responsibility to
protect him.
WEIS: Yeah, I know.
This was my choice
and I need to start
dealing with it.
JOH: Well, I have
to run. Promised
Dad I’d go on this
bible study with
him.
WEIS: Okay.
JOH: See you soon.

[ Weis hangs up as
a bus stops by him
on the street. Swiping
a card, he gets on and
finds a back seat ]

‘You’re Joh’s friend.
Uh. . .Reece, right?’

[ Weis turns around ]

WEIS: It’s “Wes”.
STUU: Oh sorry.
You could’ve sat
here, ya know?
WEIS: That’s okay.

SCENE 3

[ After leaving Markis’, Larrie is
driving home. Off in his own world,
he looks to his side and sees a young
woman walking down the street. ]

[ Distracted, he doesn’t notice a
construction cone sitting in the
road. Swaying at the last second,
he misses and slides right into a
mailbox, knocking it down. ]

‘Holy. . .shit!’

[ Larrie gets out of his car. ]

[ The women jogs by laughing at
him. Larrie looks down the street
and turns around. Seeing its clear,
he gets back in his car and takes
off. ]

[ Minutes later. . .Larrie pulls into
his driveway and gets out. Coming
inside he doesn’t notice his sister
sitting at the dining room table. ]

LARRIE: Why are you
sitting in the dark?
And where is mom
and dad?

RYAH: I don’t know.
out?
LARRIE: Good. Later.

[ He turns to go downstairs,
but Ryah stops him. ]

RYAH: Something’s up
with you I can tell.
LARRIE: Listen kid,
mind your own shit.
Alright?

SCENE 4

[ Sitting down, Weis
is forced to stare at
the back of Stuu’s
head. Feeling crowded
he quickly gets off
at the next stop. ]

‘Weis, hey. . .’

[ He turns around ]

WEIS: What the hell?
Why did you follow
me?
STUU: Relax buddy.
Just wondering what
your problem with
me is.
It’s obviously deep
since you fled the
bus.

WEIS: Actually, I
have a cig issue.
All the people
around made
me want one,
thanks.

[ Weis gets in Stuu’s
face and he backs
up ]

WEIS: But since you
wanna talk, let’s
discuss how you
took Joh’s matters
into your own hands
last semester. Yeah,
you’re fucked up.

SCENE 5

[ Meanwhile, at
Aisle 6n9, Kyle
knocks on Mark’s
office door. ]

‘So, what can
I do for you?’

[ Kyle enters and
sits down while
Mark is reading
over papers.]

KYLE: Well, I
know I’m kinda
new at this store.
But it just seems
like lately I’ve been
ran here, there and
everywhere.
MARK: I know. I’m
working on hiring
new baggers and
getting you in a
more permanent
position soon.
KYLE: That would
be great, but I had
another idea.

Since Ace will be
managing the Salon,
maybe you would
consider hiring me
as a replacement?

[ Mark looks at him ]

KYLE: Just think
about it please.
MARK: Okay, no
promises.
But I’ll see what
I can do.

SCENE 6

‘Okay, I admit
that wasn’t
my finest hour.

But you don’t
even know me.
What right do
you have to
judge?’

[ Weis looks down. ]

WEIS: You’re right.
I’m really sorry.
I’m going through a
lot, but I shouldn’t
have came at you
like that.
STUU: Nope, you
shouldn’t have.

[ Stuu smiles and
starts walking
away. ]

WEIS: Hey.
Where are you
going?

[ Turning around. ]

STUU: Come and
find out.

SCENE 7

[ Larrie shuts the
door and leans
back against it
as he starts to
laugh. . . ]

LARRIE: Damn,
this shit is good.

[ Suddenly he
hears the garage
door opening
above him. ]

[ Minutes later. ]

‘Hey Larrie,
come help with
the groceries’

LARRIE: Coming
Dad.

[ In the garage ]

L’s DAD: Your
sister seems to
think there’s
a weird smell
coming from
the basement.
Wonder what
that could be?

[ Larrie squeezes
by him. . . ]

LARRIE: Maybe
I need to clean.
L’s DAD: Yeah
maybe.

[ His Dad drops a
bag and he turns
around. ]

L’s DAD: Brilliant
idea asshole
Trading one drug
for another.
LARRIE: It was pot
Dad. Give me a little
credit, okay?

At least I’m not
mixing or snorting
my pills like I used
to.

[ His Dad just looks
at him. ]

LARRIE: Right, I was
doing that too,
Mr. Know It All.

I have changed.
You’re just too
blinded by my
past to see.
Don’t bother
kicking me out.

I’ll be gone
tonight.
