[ Billy is staggering near the front end,

watching the activity going on in the

selling room through a glass door.

Steadying his walk, he ventures into

his best friend’s office space. ]

CHAIS: That was Ski.

[ He looks up, putting down his phone. ]

CHAIS: He wanted to congratulate us 

on our first day.  

BILLY: Cool, that was nice of him.  

[ He sits across from Chais. ]

CHAIS: Look, I know you’re nervous 

about opening The Lounge alone.

You’ll be fine.  And if anything happens,

there’s security and I’m right next door.

BILLY: Yeah, I can handle it.  Thanks. 

Anyway, how are things going with

you and Jenni? 

CHAIS: Well, she’s still not pregnant

if that tells you anything.  I’m just 

trying not to put any added pressure

on the situation.  

BILLY: I understand.  Well, I’ll see you

later at the ribbon cutting ceremony.

[ He leaves and Chais goes back to 

gazing at his computer screen. ]

[ TA Store . . .Back Break Room ]

[ Scott is scrolling though a tablet doing

his weekly ordering when the door swings

open. He’s startled to attention, hearing it 

crash into the wall. ]

“Sorry.  Hey, I woke up and you

we’re gone.  Just making sure

everything is alright.”

[ Erme approaches the table to confront

him but instead Scott grabs his things.

Standing and turning away from him. ]

SCOTT: No, everything is not all right!

Why would you do that?

[ He turns to face Erme, eyebrows raised. ]

ERME: Look, it’s not a big deal.

I’ve been around them my whole

life.  I can tell they’re enjoying it.

SCOTT: You can’t be sure and anyway

it’s just not natural.  On top of that, you

could actually be doing them harm.  

How do you think your parents would

feel about this?

ERME: Okay, okay.  I get it!

[ Maxx enters the room. ]

“You might want to lower your volume

unless you want management down

here with questions.”

[ He plainly states, pointing up at the cameras. ]

[ Erme quickly leaves, passing by Maxx. ]

MAXX: Whoa, what was that about?

SCOTT: Don’t worry about it. 

Anyway, you know unless something 

out of the ordinary happens, they never 

check those.  

MAXX: That’s true but it got little 

Mensau to scram.

[ He laughs. ]

So, are we still venturing out to

homie ranch for cards tonight?

[ Scott sighs heavily. ]

SCOTT: Yeah, I guess so. 

[ KHG: The Lounge. . . Outside Lot Area. ]

[ A crowd is gathered at the entrance.  Filled 

with Green agents, security, and scattered

customers. ]

[ Chais finishes speaking & cuts the ribbon,

smiling with Jenni & Billy standing beside

him. 

He pecks his wife on the mouth. ]

JENNI: This is exciting.  I’m so proud of

you.

CHAIS: I know.  Two businesses by twenty-

eight.

That’s something even Dad hasn’t done. 

BILLY: Yeah, it’s the first day.  I would

hold your horses until we’re actually 

gaining a profit.

CHAIS: We will be soon.  Trust me.

There’s a bachelor party coming in

in a couple of hours so make sure 

everyone is out an hour before.

BILLY: Got it!  

JENNI: Well, I have to get back to

Care.  

[ Billy heads inside The Lounge while

Chais walks Jenni to her vehicle. ]

[ TA Store . . .Outside Mark’s Office. ]

[ Mark opens his door, seeing Hahn

at the assistant’s desk with a blank

stare locked into his computer. ]

“I thought we decided to stop

watching porn up here.”

[ He starts to laugh and Hahn 

doesn’t respond. ]

MARK: What’s up?  

HAHN: Nothing was just doing a

scan of the cameras.  That was added

to our checklist starting today.  

MARK: Almost thirty years at this

business and they just now are 

requiring it.  

HAHN: Crazy!  The other avenues 

of TA already do this.

MARK: Yeah, well that’s because

that’s on Ace and me. Not the DM.

HAHN: Isn’t Chaises grand opening

today?

MARK: Oh yeah!  Thanks for remind-

ing me that I wasn’t invited.

HAHN: Man, Ski’s gone. Chais ignores 

you.  At least Jai’s back home now.

MARK: I’m not so sure that’s a good

thing.  Anyway, I’ll see you later.

[ Mark leaves, exiting for the night. ] 

[ Earlier At The Lounge . . . ]

[ Billy has ushered all the customers out

and is setting up for a private experience.

Moments later, his solitude is interrupted

by the howls of many men waiting 

impatiently outside the door. ]

[ He sighs, unlocking the entrance. ]

“Hey, I’m Rafeal.  This is my best

man, Rediki and fiancé Monet.”

BILLY: Twins, nice!  Welcome and

right this way.

[ They enter, followed by five more

dressed up groomsman.  ]

[ The twins are set up across from each

other, Rafeal’s fiancé is on his lap. ]

REDIKI: You couldn’t take one night

off from being with the Misses. You’re

really becoming whipped brother.

MONET: Hey, I’m only here to try out 

The Lounge.

I have my own things to do after.

RAFEAL: Really?  Well watch what

those “things” are.

[ He grabs her close and they kiss. ]

REDIKI: Whatever!  

[ He rolls his eyes, going to join the

others near the pool table. ]

[ Towne Ranch . . .That Night. ] 

[ Maxx, Scott, and Brian are sitting

in the barn at a table, ready to dive

into a game of Spades. ]

BRIAN: Is that the first time

either of you have met Erme’s

Dad?

MAXX: I’ve only been here once. 

[ They both look at Scott. ]

SCOTT: Yes, why?

BRIAN: We’ve been friends with him

for months.  Had a whole party here. 

It’s pretty strange.  

“He is strange.”

[ Scott whispers but no one hears. ]

SCOTT: I’ll go tell Erme were here.

 

He’s probably out with the horses.

[ Scott hurries down the dark path 

headed toward the stable.  Reaching

the entrance, he moves toward the

door that is slightly left open. ]

[ Peering through the crack, he sees Erme

from the back, standing behind a white

horse.  He unfastens the strap of his

overalls, letting them tumble to the 

ground.

Completely exposed now, Scott shudders

watching Erme's hips begin to thrust. ]

[ The Lounge . . . Party Continues. ]

[ Rediki has been ignoring the groom

all night.  Sitting in a chair, he takes

out a can of beer from his pocket.

Immediately he is spotted by Billy. ]

“Hey, you can’t drink in here!

It’s against the law.”  

[ Rediki smirks, taking a sip anyway. 

Billy walks over to him. ]

BILLY: Throw it out now or I can

have security throw you out. Your

choice.  

 

[ A tall man in all back walks inside

the room. Rafael comes over. ]

RAFAEL:  Just leave.

REDIKI: What?

RAFAEL: You heard me. You’ve been

disrespectful all night.  Just go.  

And don’t bother showing up tomorrow

either!

[ Rediki is shocked by the serious look

on his face.  He grabs his jacket off 

the table, brushing Rafeal’s side as

 he walks out. ]

Monica & Kyle's house.

[ Trailyn, Mairya, & Jenni are

sitting in the living room. ]

"This is amazing!"

[ Jenni calls from the hall after

eyeing Trailyn's shiny, but subtle

orange performance dress.

She joins them on the sofa. ]

TRAILYN: You don't think it's

too much? 

JENNI: Not at all. It's perfect.

TRAILYN: If this goes well

it could turn into a regular

thing for me there.

JENNI: That's exciting.

TRAILYN: So who all did you

invite?

MAIRYA: I'll be bringing Micaa,

H and Dean.

[ They both look at Jenni. ]

JENNI: Chais and Billy left this

morning on some mission out

of state.  I think they are staying

over night. 

But I should probably warn you

H may have invited Jai which

means my nonsense sis

will be tagging along.

MAIRYA: Oh great.  I'll be sure

to thank him for his lack of

common sense.

[ She looks over at her best friend. ]

MAIRYA: If you want me to bounce

her ass out of there, just give me

the word.

TRAILYN: No thanks.  I don't 

need the drama.  Anyway my

music is open to all.  Especially

cheating, lying snakes.

[ Trailyn holds out her phone,

scrolling through her lyrics. ]

TA, Back conference room.

[ Hiring manager Weis is sitting

down organizing resumes before

the event starts.

Checking his phone for the time,

he waits for his GM to show up. ]

[ A few minutes later, there's a knock

& the door opens.]

WEIS: Whoa, what are you doing

here?

[ Joh enters in similar dress with

a button up white shirt, pants

& a tie. ]

JOH: Last night, I was sitting in

my room catching up on my

favorite series when Mark 

emails me out of nowhere

saying they got last minute

tickets and are leaving in the

morning.

Conveniently I was already

scheduled.

[ He smiles, sitting down. ]

WEIS: Last minute my ass.  They

did that shit on purpose.

JOH: Yeah, I know.  That's why we

are going to stretch this double

time out as long as possible and

make the best out of our day.

And I know the sweetest way to 

start.

WEIS: You brought some?

JOH: Already rolled buddy.

WEIS: Let's go.  We have

to be back seated in fifteen

minutes.

[ They race to the employee lot

where Joh's car is parked.

Ten minutes later, they are freshly

sprayed & back inside sitting

in the open conference room. ]

WEIS: You were right.  It's way

too busy out there to do this

in the lobby area.

So who is going to be

outside doing check-ins?

[ Airynn peaks in from around

the corner. ]

AIRYNN: Morning losers.

JOH: Hey. Right on time.

WEIS: Yeah. Let's try to leave

my virginity story out of the

intros this time.*

[ Airynn laughs from the hall. ]

Highway passed Mirror city.

[ Billy is driving while Chais

is sitting, anxiously in the 

passenger seat. ]

"We need to hurry."

BILLY: Your parents won't be

back until tomorrow some

time.

Chill the hell out.

CHAIS: I know. But i want a

chance to circle these edibles

around before the weekend.

See if they actually sell.

BILLY: It's cool. We can bake

or whatever we need to do

all night.

CHAIS: And we'll have to store

everything downstairs.

BILLY: Did you make the list?

CHAIS: Yeah. It's on my phone.

BILLY: Honestly.  I'm surprised

you're making changes at all.

Things were going pretty well

so far.

CHAIS: It wasn't my choice.

BILLY: I see.  Well that's not

going to last long.

CHAIS: What is that suppose

to mean?

BILLY: Nothing.

[ He turns up the music.

Hours later, they pull into a

parking spot. ]

CHAIS: We good?

BILLY: Yeah, my cousin's inside.

I'll be waiting out here.

[ Chais leaves him & enters

the store. ]


Later that night.

[ Trailyn is sitting down back-
stage going over things with
her band.

Meanwhile; Mairya, Micaa,
Little H, Dean, & Jenni are
sitting at a table in front 
of the stage. ]

JENNI: This is nice.  I'm glad we
all could be here to support
her.
MAIRYA: Yeah it was.  Until
someone decided to invite
an enemy along.

LITTLE H: Really? It was an
innocent mistake.  They just
fell asleep together from
what I heard.

[ Mairya rolls her eyes at him. ]

JENNI: And Tray is over it.  It's
not her focus anymore.  So why
are  you still making it yours?

[ Mairya goes to speak but is
interrupted by the DJ calling
everyone to attention on the
mic.

After getting the crowd quiet,
he introduces Trailyn and she
walks out.  Taking her place
on a stool in the center. ]

[ She looks up in time to see
her ex Jai and Kaori walk in
& take a seat at a side table.

Unfazed, the music begins &
she starts to sing.  Staring
right at them. ]


Earlier that day, TA.

[ After hours of interviewing
& multiple decision made.

Weis & Joh are down to the
last three candidates going
for a produce position.

Zoie, Tomas, & Jadyn.  ]

"I think Jadyn is the best
qualified."

[ Weis breaks the silence. ]

JOH: Yeah you would.
WEIS: What? He had the most
relevant experience and he
was the most engaging.

JOH: He engaged in some-
thing alright.  Staring down
every inch of you.  He cleary
wanted some.
WEIS: Oh please.  I haven't
been physical with anyone since
I started dating Stuu.  Almost two 
years I honestly don't even 
think about that part of me 
now.
JOH: If you say so dude.  I mean,
it's not like you haven't been
busy taking care of Mila
and everything.

WEIS: Exactly.  I'm gonna go
piss and then we can tell
him and get out of here.

[ Weis walks in the bathroom
not noticing that Jadyn has
followed him and entered also.

Jadyn takes a stand right next
to him. He sits back some. Unzips
his pants & slowly begins to
urinate looking over at Weis.

Weis is stone locked, keeping
his glance forward. ]

JADYN: Go ahead.  Look.


On Stage, 'All Ages'.

"Started as a simple
Conversation.

She was just another
Friendly face and--

[ Trailyn glances at Jai who
is now stalled from siping
his water glass.

The music gets intense &
the backup singers come
in. ]

"Wait let me take a sec

(To gather all the lies up)"

[ Dean is smirking at the
table while everyone else
but Mairya looks uncomfor-
table. 

Trailyn continues to expose
him, moving around the stage
as she hold out her notes. ]

"We were just sleeping.

It was just a kiss."

"But i know exactly how
she used her lips."

[ The song ends & she's pointing
through the stage crowd in Kaori's
direction.

Kaori sips at her drink.  Not ashamed,
she stands for verification.  Starting
the applause while Jai shrinks down
in his seat. ]

The Simon's Basement.

[ Jai joins his brother on the

couch as he's counting out a

stack of cash. ]

"New shoe time.  Already?"

CHAIS: Not today bro. This is for rent.

[ He puts it away, changing the

subject. ]

CHAIS: Since when do you work

on Saturdays anyway?

JAI: Since today.  How's the auto

repair going?

[ Chais just looks at him. ]

CHAIS: I mean.  Have you seen

any business here lately?

[ Jai shakes his head. ]

JAI: Why don't you just come

work for Dad?

CHAIS: Nah.  I'll figure it out.

JAI: Alright. I gotta go. Ride's

here.

[ They hear a car horn. ]

CHAIS: Who is that?

JAI: A'myan. I got him a job.

CHAIS: You got a meth head

a job with kids?

JAI: He's clean now.  We both are.

So stop judging. Later.

[ Minutes go by, Chais is sitting

alone & texting on his phone. ]

CHAIS: They're gone.

Go ahead and bring it.

Local Jail, Magic Springs.

[ Stuu sees his Dad being led

into the room.  Hesistant, he

sits down.  Picking up the phone. ]

STUUsDAD: Can you look at me?

[ Stuu brings his head up. Staring

him eye to eye. ]

STUU: I can't believe you  did this.

And for what, just to get some

attention from us.  An obvious

fail.

STUUsDAD: You wouldn't begin

to understand son.

STUU: Oh come off it.  Change

for once and maybe you get

some different results.

[ Stuu notices the guard's expression

& lowers his voice. ]

STUUsDAD: You mean, like you did.

STUU: My relationship and child

have nothing to do with this.  

STUUsDAD: At least the family you

created won't abandon you like my

real one has.  

[ He attempts to hang up the phone

but Stuu gives him a stern look,

tapping lightly on the glass. ]

STUU: This isn't about that. But of

course your selfish ass isn't even

thinking of the people that were

hurt.  I'm done.

And don't bother calling Mac. He's

not coming.

Back in the basement.

[ Chais walks down the steps, removing

a large sized plastic bag from underneath

his shirt full of plump, light green buds.

He goes in his room, locking the door 

behind him. ]

"Where should I hide this?"

[ Before he can think too long, he hears

a knock on his door. 

Chais throws the bag in the closet. ]

"It's me!"

CHAIS: Damn.  You couldn't of text.

Who let you in?

BILLY: Ski's home.  What's your

problem?

CHAIS: I finally did it.  Look in the

closet.

BILLY: Holy

CHAIS: Yeah.

BILLY: Better not let Ski see any of

that.

CHAIS: I'm not worried. They don't

come down here but I might need

your help.

Getting connects and shit.

BILLY: I knew that you would

one day need my expertise.

CHAIS: You sold for a week and

got caught by the principal.

BILLY: True but at least I got

out of being expelled due to

my "mental problems".

[ They are interrupted by Chais'

cell ringing. ]

"Jenni."

[ He sends her to voicemail. ]


Stuu & Weis' apartment.

[ After a long drive, Stuu returns
home to see baby Mila sleeping
and Tiesun in the living room. ]

"Has Weis been around?"

TIESUN: Nope but sit.  I wanna
hear how everything went 
down.

[ She listens for awhile to him
retelling the conversation. ]

STUU: Ever since he did this. Weis
has been staying out more.  Larrie's
been calling off work.

Ski is worried about him spiraling.
And I don't want my Dad's dumb
decisions to ruin anyone's life.

TIESUN: That's not going to happen.
Those two have plenty of support.
And we're not going to let it.

I'll keep an eye on Larrie.  And
you watch Weis.  

STUU: Okay.

[ She gets up, gathering her stuff. ]

TIESUN: I'm going to head over to
Larrie's now.  A little surprise
visit.

Find your man.

[ She exits out the front door. ]


Near close, the Salon.

"Long day?"

TILA: Something like that.
Ready to head home.

LORENZO: Oh yeah? Think
maybe you're finally ready
to take me up on the double
date offer.
TILA: No.  My man is not really
the double date type.

LORENZO: I see. What type is
this mystery man?

TILA: My type.

[ She gives him an evil look. ]

LORENZO: Well. Can I at least meet
him.

TILA: He's here.

[ They walk outside & Lorenzo is shock
to see a limo parked. A professional
older gentleman gets out, removing
his sun glasses. ]

LORENZO: He must be lost.

[ Lorenzo starts to walk over but
Tila passes him.  Giving the man
a kiss on the cheek, she looks
at Lorenzo before getting into
the car. ]

Tempt (N)ation

Scene One: Mid-afternoon TA.

[  Airynn is walking at a steady pace,

surveying over the front end when

he sees Scott checking for out-of-

dates. ]

"Why are you still here?"

SCOTT: I'm working a double cuz

Jack got fired this morning.

AIRYNN: Damn.  First Lisa leaves.

Now Jack.  What is going on here?

SCOTT: I don't know but since we

still haven't gotten an official pro-

duce manager I'm hoping Mark

would consider me.

[ Airynn makes a "yeah right"

face at Scott. ]

AIRYNN: Good luck with that

dude.  Anyway, are you still

seeing Lisa?

[ Scott goes back to his work.

Trying to ignore his question

but Airynn follows him. ]

AIRYNN: What happened?

SCOTT: Nothing.  I just don't

think it's gonna work out. I

mean, you know how I can

get.

AIRYNN:  You mean annoying,

all over the place. Irrational.

SCOTT: Yeah thanks man.  Lisa is

the complete opposite so may-

be we should just quit while

we're behind.  I can tell I

irritate her anyway.

AIRYNN: Don't be that way

Scott.  Just talk to her about it.  

Well I'd love to stay and chat

but I've been here long enough

as it is.

[ Leaving Scott, he walks through

the back doors.  Taking out his

phone, Airynn scrolls down his

contact list. Smiling sneakily

when he finds Lisa. ]

BRIAN: Hey, why are you creeping

around back here idiot?

[ He starts laughing after almost

hitting Airynn with the door. ]

AIRYNN: Just heading out.  Have fun.

Scene Two: At Amber/Dyminic's.

[ Amber & Ski are sitting down baby

wall decorations in the living room

when Hithe walks in. ]

"Paint's almost dry."

AMBER: Everything out here is done.

SKI: Yeah that didn't take long. Good

thing we decided to starting build-

ing out here.

HITHE: It was great, wasn't it?  And

whose idea was that again?

SKI: Aright we get it.  Back to what I 

was saying.

AMBER: Yeah. I'm worried about it

too.  When I was over the other

day he wouldn't even speak. That's

not like Jai.

SKI: I don't like how he is so

dependant on this one friend.  

He let things go with Trailyn.

Never talks to us or his bro-

thers. He's just absent.

AMBER: Hopefully the time he's

had to think actually did some

good.  

HITHE: If he's not talking to his

family.  Maybe he'll consider

talking to a professional.

SKI: So where did Mairya end-

ing up going?

HITHE: She and her newer boy

are staying with her older boy.

SKI: You mean Caleb?

HITHE: Yeah. He got emancipated.

SKI: Wow.  I wonder how he's

doing now.

[ Ski makes a face like he is off

into space, thinking. 

He returns to Amber & Hithe

staring at him. ]

SKI: Don't give me that look.

Caleb was a.  Nice guy.  

Scene Three: Outside the Simon's.

[ Hidden behind tinted windows, A'Myan 

is parked at the end of the block.  Jai gets

inside. ]

"Jesus. I've been sitting her for 20

minutes bro."

JAI: My bad.  I had to sit through one

more lecture before he let me go.  I

have to wait another week before I

can get my car back.

Go to the park.  It's closer.

[ A'Myan speedily drives off.  

Just a few minutes later. ]

AMYAN: They should of made your

ass get tested.

[ They sit parked in a corner of an

empty lot, in the shade. ]

JAI: They still could. We we're lucky

to get away with that shit.

AMYAN: You were right though.  Your

Dads never came outside to check.  

[ After Jai gets a satisfying hit, he

attempts to hand the pipe over to

his friend. ]

AMYAN: Go ahead.  I've already had

one.

JAI: My job is the only way I got

through these last few weeks.

AMYAN: I bet.  That's all I do is

work.  I have two jobs now. 

JAI: That must cut down on all

your time being a whore.

[ A'myan looks right at Jai. ]

AMYAN: Not if I don't sleep.

Scene Four: Later at Airynn's.

[ Airynn sees his brother Billy & a

stranger sitting down, watching

TV. ]

"Whoa. I didn't know you talked

to girls."

[ Billy rolls his eyes at him. ]

BILLY: So funny.  This is Ariel.

AIRYNN: Nice to meet you but

you two have to go upstairs

soon, I have somone coming

over.

BILLY: That's a first.  Consider-

ing you don't have any friends.

[ He laughs at the insult. ]

Joh can't even be bothered

with you anymore.

AIRYNN: Joh lives in bum fuck

Egypt.  And it's not your

business.

Just be gone in an hour.

[ He leaves them & goes to 

his back room.

Spread out on the bed he 

eagerly awaits her text back. ]


Scene Five: Back at Amber's.

[ After finishing their Chinese 
takeout, Ski & Hithe have left.

Amber is in the living room. 
Finishing up some cleaning
when Dyminic walks in. ]

DYMINIC: Can't believe that room
was empty this morning.  You three
did a great job.
AMBER: Thanks babe.  It seems like
just yesterday I was finding out I
was pregnant.

[ Dyminic leans over & kisses her
on the cheek. ]

AMBER: How was work?

DYMINIC: I had a pretty stress less
day actually.
Have you thought anymore about
what we talked about last night?
AMBER: I understand you think I
should take some extra time off
but I really believe I'll be fine.

[ Dyminic doesn't speak but Amber
can tell that her words have made
him tense. ]

DYMINIC: You should go with what
is recommended but at any rate
I'm just excited to get through
these last few weeks.
AMBER: Do you think we're ready?

DYMINIC: Of course.  You're going to
make the best mom this world has
ever seen.


Scene Six: Final Scene.

"I'm here."

[ After receiving Lisa's text, Airynn
waits alone in the room for her
to walk through the front door.

She joins him on the couch. ]

LISA: Not that it's not nice to
see you, but you mind finally
telling me what this is about?

AIRYNN: I wanted to talk to you
on behalf of Scott.  He's not 
exactly the smoothest guy
when it comes to dating.

Are you really into him?
I mean, all of him.
LISA: You're asking if I can
handle his personality?

If I couldn't, do you think
I would've started dating
him in the first place.

[ Airynn nods his head, fee-
ling a little foolish. ]

LISA: I worked with Scott
9 months.  I know him just
as well as you do.

[ Not realizing that Airynn has
moved his arm closer to her's.

Before he can connect, Airynn
shakes a vision of Scott
looking disappointed. ]

[ Placing his hand on Lisa
shoulder instead, Airynn clears
his throat. ]

AIRYNN: You should go.  And
stop by Scott's if you can.  

He'd really appreciate it.

[ He stands up, leaving her

alone in his living room. ]
