Scene O n e : 
[ Jenni & Chais’ Backyard Area.]
[ Ski & Chais are relaxed, luxuriating on
lounge chairs near the edge of the pool.
Little H is standing on the diving board.]
“Hello? I can’t hear you. . .!”
SKI & CHAIS: 3. . .2. . .
[ At 1, H careens off the board. Bending
his knees, he grabs his ankles midair &
barrels toward the water headfirst.]
CHAIS: Nice brother! What was that?
LITTLE H: It’s called a flying squirrel.
[ H takes a towel, wrapping it around
his unclothed, upper body. He plops
down next to Ski.]
LITTLE H: So, what is Jai up to? He
hasn't been answering any texts.
SKI: He’s busy opening Care. Sunny
is out of town this weekend.
CHAIS: We’ll, he better show up
tonight.
Along with all the other Simons.
SKI: Nothing like a family reunion to
start the summer off with a bang.
LITTLE H: Just keep an eye on your
uncles this time.
We don’t need a repeat of last year’s
drama.
CHAIS: Oh, they’ve been warned.
LITTLE H: Nice! Have you seen this?
[ He hands his phone to Ski while Chais
looks on.]
SKI: Suns out, buns out.
CHAIS: Oh yeah. Dad’s hosting his
annual nudist social in a couple weeks.
So sorry I’ll have to miss it.
[ He states, sarcastically.]
SKI: Yeah, I won’t be there either.
LITTLE H: I will. Caleb wants to go.
Did you notice the change though?
This year is co-ed. Man and woman
will be there.
CHAIS: Oh yeah? Wonder whose idea
that was.
[ He laughs, smirking at Ski.]
SKI: It’s no big deal. I’m sure there’s
a logical explanation for it.
[ H looks concerned.]
CHAIS: Whatever you say.
Scene T w o :
[ Kira is alone. Pacing around the
perimeter and sipping on her coffee.
She settles into her thoughts and the
soft music playing in her ears. ]
[ Lost in it now, Kira let’s out a
light yawn, stopping to stretch out
her legs.
Looking down, she doesn’t know
that Yazmyn has come in. ]
YAZ: Hey girl!
[ Kira is startled. ]
YAZ: Me and Ricky were over
at Sear’s last night. We tried
to call you.
[ She sits down at a table & Kira
joins her. Immediately placing her
hand over her bandaged wrist. ]
KIRA: I’m sorry, I was with Scott.
[ She laughs it off. ]
KIRA: You know how he gets about
our one-on-one time.
YAZ: Yeah, but you shouldn’t have
to shut the world out just because
you're around him.
I mean, is everything with you two
going alright?
[ Yaz notices her arm. ]
KIRA: We’re good. Well, I’m headed
out early today. My last client should
be here soon. See ya.
[ Kira exits. ]
Scene T h r e e :
[ At The Aisles, Later That Morning. ]
[ Ricky approaches Syria while she’s
checking the expiration dates on a
shelf of fruity & fluffy pastries. ]
SYRIA: Hey hon, how’s things going
with meat? Any weirdos stop by
your counter today?
RICKY: Thankfully not. For some
reason I cannot get this IPAD to
load so I can do my ordering.
SYRIA: Maybe it’s dead. One of your
assistants could of not plugged it in
correctly.
RICKY: Oh no its fully charged. And
there’s no issue with the connection
either. I checked.
[ Syria gets closer & Ricky shows her
the screen. ]
RICKY: See it will come on but then
it just blanks out.
SYRIA: Hmm, I’ll log out of mine and
you can just use it.
Better report that to a manager.
[ Syria cautions as she disappears behind
the back room double doors. ]
Scene F o u r :
[ Chais & Jenni’s Basement, Afternoon. ]
[ Chais, Ski, Mark, Jai, & Mark’s father
are drinking and talking while Mark’s
brothers are playing a game of pool. ]
UNCLE ROB: You’re going down!
UNCLE JOSH: You wish, old man.
MARK: Where’s mom? I thought
she was coming down.
M’s DAD: She’s probably outside
with Jenn watching the little ones.
MARK: You two have been pretty
distant since you got here. You’re
not arguing again, are you?
[ He doesn’t answer. ]
M’s DAD: Hey, I got whoever wins.
[ He gets up, heading for the table. ]
CHAIS: A woman is coming up the
drive. I thought everyone was here.
SKI: Uh yeah. That’s my mother.
CHAIS: For real?
Scene F i v e :
[ Between TA & TA Kutz ]
[ Yaz is sitting on a bench when
store workers Scott & Maxx are
seen walking toward the lot. ]
“Hey Scott!”
[ Yaz calls out & they come over. ]
SCOTT: What’s up?
YAZ: Just waiting on Ricky, she’s
giving me a ride. What are you
guys up to?
MAXX: Not much. Gonna go see
what Brian is doing.
YAZ: That’s cool.
[ She looks over at Scott. ]
YAZ: Kira mentioned you two
hung out last night. How was
was the date?
SCOTT: I was here last night.
Besides seeing her at TA, we
haven't gone out in a few weeks.
[ Yaz stays silent, thinking. ]
Scene S i x :
[ Inside The Reunion, Late Eve. ]
SKI: I can’t believe after all these
years of invites, you’re finally here.
[ After Ski introduces her to all the
family members, she takes a seat
next to Mark’s Dad. ]
S's MOM: I figured it’s about time I
see what all the fuss is about.
M's DAD: I like your dress.
[ He stares up & down, locking in
on her eyes. ]
S's MOM: Thank you.
[ Suddenly the room is filled with
younger kids running downstairs.
Mark’s mom enters the room.
With a sharp glance in her husband’s
direction, she settles on the couch
across from him. ]
MARK: Anyways, enough pool.
Let’s do something everyone can
join in on.
[ He states, rustling the hairs on his
nephew's head as he sits on his lap. ]
CHAIS: Just wait, I have an idea.
[ He leaves for upstairs. ]
Scene S e v e n :
[ Kira’s apartment, bedroom. ]
“I know you weren’t with Scott.”
“Hey babe, I’m at Brian’s but
text or call me. I’ll answer.”
[ She shifts through her unanswered
text, sighing. ]
“Owww”
[ Kira exclaims, trying to hold back her
intense pain. She grabs ahold of a pillow
tight, feeling the sensation start to build
up in her legs. ]
She lets out a deep breath, to calm her
senses as the situation subsides. ]
[ Making up her mind, she reaches for
her phone. ]
“Hey babe.”
KIRA: Can you come over now?
Thanks. We need to talk.
