Whole New World: Part 2

SCENE ONE :

Berlin, Germany. Airport.

[ Madeline & Lorenzo are

retrieving their luggage. ]

"We made it."

MADELINE: Yes, only six hours

of a delay later.

[ She gives him her best laggy

smile as they start to walk

away. ]

LORENZO: So where are we head-

ed?  Your mom's?

MADELINE: She wants us to meet

her for dinner but that's not until

much later on.

LORENZO: Alright then.

MADELINE: Ohh I have an idea.

There's a walking tour we could

catch, that way you could see

some of the sights.  It would

buy us time too.

LORENZO: Sounds great.

[ Outside on the road. ]

MADELINE: Let's go drop our

things off.  We can head out

from the hotel.

LORENZO: Sure.  You don't wanna

call your family?  Let them know

we're here first.

[ Madeline never answers but instead

walks over, talking with a cab driver

who is sitting outside his vehicle. ]

MADELINE: We'll be there in about

20 and he'll be ready in a few.

SCENE TWO :

Castle Watch, live feeds.

[ All 10 contestants are spread around

the castle, talking in various rooms.

Zain is nearby in the kitchen while

Jazpur is talking with Mari. ]

MARI: What we're you doing before

all this?

JAZPUR: I just graduated a few months

ago.  After that nothing.

MARI: Cool.  I graduated a year early.

It's a long story but I'm sure you'll

find out, if we're both here long

enough.

[ She smiles, looking over at Zain. ]

MARI: What about you?

ZAIN: I've been out for a year too.

Just been working before this.

[ Everyone is brought to attention

suddenly by a loud voice over

the house speakers. ]

"Guests. Your first challenge will

start in an hour's time."

[ Jazpur stops talking, then shortly

after dissapears. ]

ZAIN: I see that someone is serious

about the game.

MARI: I get it though.  It's his first 

chance to make an impression. 

I mean, we all came here to win.

ZAIN: I guess.  It took a lot just

to get here that's why I'm taking

everything day by day.

SCENE THREE :

Walking tour, Bradenburg Gate.

[ Madeline is leaning on a column.

The sun beaming down as she

smiles.  Lorenzo takes a picture. ]

"You alright?  You've been pretty

quiet this whole tour."

MADELINE: I'm fine really.  Just

excited to be back.  That's all.

[ Lorenzo comes close & they snap

a selfie together. ]

LORENZO: The structures we've

seen have been amazing.  Don't

see stuff like this back at home.

MADELINE: I know.  I think they're

ready to move on to the last place.

[ They look over as a group is

 huddled by the tour leader.

After awhile of visiting the last

site, Madeline finally speaks

up. ]

MADELINE: There is something I

would like to tell you.  

LORENZO: What is it?

MADELINE: It's about my mom.

LORENZO: Before you say anything

I figured you didn't tell her or

any of them about how you

were captured.

[ He whispers the last bit. ]

MADELINE: I didn't but-.

LORENZO: I won't say a word.

You can trust me.

MADELINE: I do but that's not

it.  I was trying to tell you

that she's blind.  

SCENE FOUR : 

Night time, at The Aisles.

[ Stuu & Weis are sitting

down in the back break area

flipping through channels. ]

"Can't believe it's been two

months since we've been

here."

WEIS: I know.  I got so use

to living on that bus.

STUU: There's new people

here.  Zain is on TV.  Every-

thing is changing.

WEIS: Just wait until we're

working again.

STUU: One more week.

WEIS: Where is Ski anyway?

The show is about to start.

[ Stuu stands up. ]

STUU: I'm kind of glad he's

not here, there's something

I've been meaning to tell you.

WEIS: Okay.  Spill it.

STUU: Remember when I told

you a little over a year ago I

was thinking about donating

my sperm.

Well, I did.  

WEIS: So you have a child?

STUU: Yes.  Something happen-

ed to the birth mom and now

their asking me about keep-

ing her.  I have no idea what

I'm gonna do.

SCENE FIVE :

A world, seemingly far away.

[ The contestants are gathered

in the stadium room to compete

for their first challenge.

Pairs are competing sword fights

until the last girl and boy stand-

ing face off. ]

[ It's Zain's turn to battle.  He

steps up with a strong grip and

thrust, catching his opposite

off gaurd.

The opponant fires back quickly

& Zain's sword is soon tumbling

to the ground. ]

[ He gives his best look of dissa-

pointment as Jazpur smirks at

him, catching on. 

It's down to Mari & Jazpur. ]

"The winner of this battle will

choose the first two people up

for next week's vote off."

[ Jazpur pretends to be into the

game.  Staring her down even.

At this point he has decided

to take a cue from Zain.

Mari wins to everyone's surprise. ]

JAZPUR: I didn't want to choose.

[ He states, walking by Zain. ]

SCENE SIX :

At Madeline's mom's house.

[ After being introduced to the family,

everyone leaves the kitchen except

Lorenzo & Madeline. ]

LORENZO: Would you like some

help with everything?

I could carry something out.

MADELINE: I think she's alright.

Let's go sit at the table.

[ Madeline leaves but Lorenzo

walks back inside. ]

LORENZO: I really appreciate you

inviting me over.  I care a lot

about your daughter.

[ She looks over & smiles. ]

MOTHER: Yes, I'm glad.

LORENZO: Are you sure you

don't need anything?

[ He doesn't notice Madeline's

brother walking in. ]

BROTHER: She said, she's good.

[ He brushes up against Lorenzo

as he walks past & over to his

mother. ]

SCENE SEVEN :

[ After Mari celebrates her win,

the contestants are silent as

she makes her decision.

She rattles off the first name

with ease, but hesitates when

asked for her final nomination. ]

MARI: I choose. . . . . .

Jazpur.

[ Zain watches as his face turns
from a look of relief to one of
devastation. ]

Whole New World: Part 1

SCENE ONE :

Inside a hotel room, some-

where on the East coast.

[ Zain hangs up the desk

phone & joins Joh who is

sitting at the table, eating

his Italian room service. ]

ZAIN: Ski screamed in my ear

so I gather he got the point.

[ Joh looks up, smiling as

he bites into a breadstick. ]

JOH: What did you tell him?   

ZAIN: I just said all I can

say is I'll be gone awhile.  You

think they might be listening

in on us?

JOH: I mean, the windows are

blacked out, and there's a look

out by the stairs so I wouldn't

put it past them.  

[ Zain gets up; trying to get

a look through the glass

but fails. ]

ZAIN: This is wild.  We don't

even know where we are really.

JOH: I'm guessing it's some place

tropical from the sounds outside.

Where do you think, dude?

[ He waits, but Zain doesn't answer. ]

JOH: Something wrong?

ZAIN: Yeah, just starting to get

a little nervous all of a sudden.

JOH: We have all night. Let's

just eat, chill and pretend like 

we're back home for awhile.

ZAIN: That sounds good.  Cool.

[ He returns to his meal. ]

SCENE TWO:

A few hours later, at Lorenzo's.

[ Madeline enters the living room,

takes off her shoes, and sits 

down on the sofa.  She keeps 

quiet. ]

"We're they that bad today?"

MADELINE: No.  I've got use to the 

filty behavior.  The lower pay is

the problem now.  

LORENZO: I'm sorry babe.  In a few

months you'll be legit here and

you can do whatever you want.

MADELINE: I don't know about

that but thanks.

[ She leans on Lorenzo & they

wrap up together. ]

LORENZO: You still have this week-

end off right?

MADELINE: Yes.

LORENZO: Good because we're going

away.  To Berlin.

MADELINE: That's funny.

[ Lorenzo grabs the plane tickets

out of his pocket & Madeline

is stunned.

She can't help the forming tears

in her eyes. ]

LORENZO: I've been saving up.

I know how much you miss your

family. 

SCENE THREE :

Back in the Unknown.

[ Zain & Joh are gathering their

stuff when there's a knock on

the door.  ]

"I guess this is it."

JOH: Just remember what I said.

Be yourself.

And you look very nice.

[ He gives Zain a weird look. ]

ZAIN: Get out of here.

[ He leaves & Zain starts to laugh.

Suddenly a tall, bulky man appears

in the doorway. ]

"Come on."

[ Minutes pass by & he is sitting 

alone.  Sounds are cancelled by

headphones & blindfolded. 

They come to a stop & the door

opens.  Zain can feel someone

near him. ]

"Don't speak" 

[ Thinking, Zain counts in his

head as this process continues

over & over. ]

"TEN"

SCENE FOUR :

That night, at Mark & Ski's.

[ Mark, Ski, Chais, Jenni, &

Billy are sitting in the living

room watching television. ]

MARK: So what are we watching?

SKI: Some new competition show.

Suppose to be good.

[ He holds back, freaking out 

a little inside. ]

CHAIS: Coming from you that

probably means the opposite.

JENNI: I don't think he asked

for your opinion.

BILLY: Damn.

[ She hits him with a piece of

popcorn in the face. ]

[ The shows starts then, as a

male presenter is seen onstage

behind a massive castle & bridge.

He explains the concept of the

show with a large crowd being

shown in the background. ]

"Each week there will be a

challenge.  Each week there

will be a vote.  And every

week someone will go."

[ Everyone continues to watch as

the contestants are introduced

one-by-one.  Ski's stomach is

in knots until the last guy 

comes on screen. ]

SCENE FIVE :

Inside the Airport.

[ Madeline is talking to her friend

on the phone. ]

MADELINE: I'm serious. He just

told me tonight.

SUNSHINE: Well I happy for you.

Your mom's going to love Renzo.

When do you board?

MADELINE: About twenty minutes.

I think he's a little nervous

about the flight but he

wont say anything.

SUNSHINE: I see. Is it his first time?

MADELINE: Yes.

[ She looks over & sees Lorenzo

sitting down.  Sipping on his

coffee. ]

MADELINE: Well I better go reassure

him.  I'll let you know when I get

there.

SUNSHINE: Be safe and tell everyone

I said hello.

MADELINE: I will.  Bye.

[ She returns just as travelers start

toward the plane. ]

SCENE SIX :

Inside TV world.

"What do you think you'll

bring to this first series of

Castle Watch?"

JAZPUR: I can be very per-

suasive when I wanna be.

And when it comes to

competition.  Sorry but no

ones gonna stop me.  

[ The presenter motions for

him to walk inside as a mix

of cheers and boos are heard

from the crowd. ]

"And finally.  Our last contestant.

Zain"

[ They pan toward a screen

where Zain is shown answering

questions about himself."

"I'm just a down to earth. Normal

guy.  Yeah right."

[ Zain slowly walks out, looking

up & trying not to stare at the

faces.  Soon he is caught up

in the moment, posing & waving

for the people.

He turns around one last time

before crossing the bridge into

the castle. ]

SCENE SEVEN :

Meawhile, in the air. 

[ Madeline is talking to Lorenzo

about places they should visit

in Germany. ]

"This is a big step in our relation-

ship."

MADELINE: I know.  Don't be con-

cerned.  You should fit right into

my family.

[ She notices his strained ex-

pression. ]

LORENZO: It's not that but I swear

I just felt moving under me.

MADELINE: I'm sure it's nothing

or they would have told us.

Light turbulance, I'm guessing.

"Attention guests.  We will be

landing in about 15 minutes."

LORENZO: That was fast.

MADELINE: Way too much I'm

afraid. There's no way we're

close.

[ She waves over a flight attendant. ]

MADELINE: Why are we landing?

ATTENDANT: Not sure.  I believe

we're switching planes.  Please

just stay seated.

[ Lorenzo looks at Madeline as the

girl hurries off toward the front. ]

SCENE ONE :
Early morning, The Aisles.

[ Zain, Tiesun, & Stuu are taking
their last break of the shift. ]

ZAIN: I haven't been able to chill my-
self out all night.  I'm too nervous
about tomorrow afternoon.

TIESUN: You'll do fine.  Just show
them the down to earth, caring
guy we've all grown to love. I'm
sure they won't be able to resist.
STUU: Okay.  Usually I would 
say that you're right --.

[ Tiesun interrupts him. ]

TIESUN: I've been on auditions
before I know a little about it.
STUU: For this type of show I
would almost think that's the
opposite of what they want.

ZAIN: It's true.  I'm competing
with 19-23 year olds from all
over this area.  In order to get
in that house, I have to find
some off the wall way to stand
out.  
STUU: You still have a little
time, I would suggest you 
work on a gimmick then.

ZAIN: Yeah.  I already have
one in mind.

[ He states, staring at a picture
on his phone. ]


SCENE TWO :
Much later, Monica's home.

[ She & Kristyn are about to walk
out the door.  Trailyn is facing her
mom while Mairya sits close by. ]

TRAILYN: I understand.  Now should-
n't you be heading to the concert?

It's getting later and later.

MONICA: I know what time it is.
Remember no one aloud over we
didn't discuss.  No alcohol and
everyone leaves at midnight.

Kii will be home soon.

[ The adults leave & Trailyn joins
Mairya, sitting next to her. ]

TRAILYN: Finally.  It took me three
weeks to convince her to let me
do this, this night better go as
I planned.
MAIRYA: It will.  Your brother is
gone and you told Jai to get here
early.  
TRAILYN: He's bringing a friend.  
Maybe you can -- .
MAIRYA: Don't even say it.

That is the last thing I need.

[ Mairya rolls her eyes, exiting
the room. ]


SCENE THREE :
Earlier in the day time.

[ Weis & LeeVigh are sitting down
in their living room.  After packing
suitcases & equipment into a
van for hours, they toast & take
a much needed drink. ]

LEEVIGH: Everything is set.  The rooms,
the venues.  After this Sunday, we'll be
booked three nights a week.
WEIS: I can't believe you got all this
done on your own.  Just off of our
videos online.  Maybe you're the
band member I should be dating.

[ LeeVigh starts to laugh. ]

WEIS: Just kidding.  Obviously.
LEEVIGH: Where is our other
third anyway? 
WEIS: I don't know.  He said he
would be here hours ago to help
with loading the stuff.  Leave it
to him to skip out.  

LEEVIGH: Right.  So did you find
out if Ski is holding onto your jobs?
WEIS: He said he'd do the best
he can.  Hopefully he'll find
a couple of willing temps.  
LEEVIGH: That's good.  I wasn't so
fortunate.  But it's cool.  There's
always other jobs.  

WEIS: True.  And at least you 
have her to lean on.

[ He points to the window as
Tessa is walking up the drive. ]


SCENE FOUR :
Highway, across town.

[ Joh is driving Zain to a down-
town Maison City bar. ]

JOH: You really think rocking
that get up is going to score
you points?  It looks like you're
wearing a woman's blouse.
ZAIN: Oh yeah.  Just wait until
you see some of the freaks
that will be lurking in this line.
And I was going for more of
an animalistic vibe.
JOH: I see.  Wait are you in
mascara?
ZAIN: Yup borrowed from your
best friend Weis.

[ They pull inside a packed parking
lot while Zain prepares to go in-
side.

Nearly an hour later, it's show-
time.  Zain has been put in a
small group and he and a female
contestant are about to be thrown
into a random scenario. ]

[ After reading a card, they dive in. ]

 ZAIN: No.  I said that you going in
there and adding personal items 
off the budget when we agreed to
use it on essentials was a selfish
act.  I'm sure many here would
agree with that.

[ The partner was momentarily
silenced by the power of his voice. ]


SCENE FIVE :
At Trailyn's party.

[ She & her guests are playing a
game.  It's Jai's friend's chance
to take a turn. ]

"Dare"

TRAILYN: Okay.  Kiss Mairya.

MAIRYA: No way.  I'm not kissing
some boy I just met.

[ Jai's friend smiles at her. ]

TRAILYN: Maybe you'll know each
other better in the closet.
MAIRYA: Gross.

[ She stands up pointing at Jai
& Trailyn. ]

MAIRYA: You two are the smart
ones.  Can't you come up with
something more interesting?

[ She leaves.  Trailyn notices
Jai is staring at her.  He comes
over & sits down. ]

JAI: I didn't think it was such
a bad idea.

[ All it took from then was a slight
smile & Jai was moving in for
the kiss.  As Trailyn starts to
close her eyes the front door
flies open. 

Kiilyn, Chais, & Billy enter. ]


SCENE SIX :
Outside the apartments.

[ LeeVigh & Tessa are talking. ]

TESSA: I'm guessing you weren't
able to save your job.

LEEVIGH: Come on Tess, I don't
want to argue on my last night
here.  I thought you understood
me taking these nine weeks
off.
TESSA: What you said the other
night, what happened to that?

LEEVIGH: My focus is still us.  Our
lease will be up in a few months
and then I'll move out.  

[ She doesn't say anything for a
minute, coming into his sight
line Tessa softens. ]

TESSA: We'll see what happens.  

[ Meanwhile inside, Stuu finally
arrives. ]

WEIS: You sure you wanna drive us
to Maison?  You've been running
around all day.
STUU: Yeah I'm fine.  Just give me
a second.  

[ Weis joins Leevigh in the car while
Stuu sits down opening a letter. ]

"Dear Donor,
We're writing to inform you of an
unusual circumstance that has taken
place with your case.  For reason's
that have been witheld the birth
mom has not been able to care
for the baby girl that was birth
a couple months ago.

For now the child is in adoption."

[ Stuu face turns a pale white as
the paper falls to the floor. ]

SCENE SEVEN :
Still at the Audition.

[ After sorting through the groups,
Zain is directed into a quiet room
with one camera where is he is
instructed to talk for five minutes. ]

ZAIN: I think that I am most often
misunderstood.  Sometimes I use
costumes to bring out my inner
self which I find it hard to express
any other way.

VOICE: Is there any other ways you
like to express yourself through
your attire?

ZAIN: Yes.

[ Zain growls at the camera. ]

ZAIN: You know what that means.
VOICE: Thank you for your audition
today Zain.  You are free to leave.

[ Zain is waiting in the parking lot
when he hears Joh honking his
horn behind him. ]

JOH: How it'd go?
ZAIN: Well I kind of got carried
away, I think they could tell
it wasn't all true.  Oh well man.

At least I tried. 


SCENE EIGHT :
Monica's living room.

[ Billy & Chais are carrying
paper bags and they run up-
stairs while Kiilyn walks over
to the couch. ]

KIILYN: What man?  You think
you can just kiss my sister?

[ He tries to keep a straight
face but insteads burst into
laughter. ]

TRAILYN: Get out of here.
KIILYN: I'm just playing.  I'll be
in my room.

[ Chais comes downstairs. ]

CHAIS: H brought someone.
I seen him from upstairs.
TRAILYN: Yeah I knew that
nosy.  So?

[ He walks over to the front
window, peering through the
blind. ]

CHAIS: Did you also tell him he
could mack on some guy right
on the patio?

[ She comes over fast. ]

TRAILYN: That's not just some
guy.  Im pretty sure. . . . . .
