Trepidation Household: Part 1 [ #Sunsational25 ]

 Scene O n e:

[ Two & A Half Months Prior. ]

[ The Aisles, Store Meat Counter. ]

[ A young man approaches Ricky,

the manager. Early in the AM. ]

“Good morning.  Can I help you?"

CUSTOMER: Well yes, I’m hoping so.

Last week, I came in and one of your

assistants said you would be getting

more of the tomahawk ribeye's.

I have a raincheck for the on sale

price, right here.

RICKY: Sure.  Let me go check on those

for you.  Give me a few minutes.

[ He watches as she retreats to the

back cooler.  Staring through the clear

plastic doors, he notices her walk out

toward the back room.

Looking around, he takes that moment

to jump onto the counter, hauling his

body the rest of the way down.

Quickly, busting through the doors.

He immediately finds what he is

looking for. ]

[ An iPad sitting unattended on a back

table.  He wastes no time unlocking the

screen.

Sliding in a usb drive.  Minutes later. ]

“You said ten, right?

CUSTOMER: Yes, thank you.

[ He smiles, handing her his card. ]

Scene T w o:

[ Back To That Night. . . ]

“Hey sons.  I didn’t think either of

you we’re coming.”

UNCLE JOSH: Yeah well, he talked me

Into it.

[ He takes a seat by Ski, while Mark

sits by his father. ]

MARK: What were you guys chatting

about?

Everyone looks so serious.

GRANDPA: These actually.

[ He holds up Mark’s extra set of

store keys. ]

MARK: Oh yeah!  Thanks Dad.

JAI: You knew he had them?

MARK: Of course.  He was hired to

do some maintenance work.

It was contracted.  Then I had to

leave to oversee Mirror.

JAI: Oh.  That makes sense.

GRANDPA: Can’t believe you think

I could do that to the family.

Even though certain people are

choosing to ignore me.  I would

never harm any of you.

[ He looks over at Josh who is

laughing with Chais.  Clinging on

to his beer. ]

Scene T h r e e:

[ Across Town . . .At Julieyn’s ]

“Diane.  It’s nice to see you

again.”

DIANE: Is it?

[ She questions, as Caleon’s Dad

sits next to her and Julieyn. ]

CALS DAD: I’m sorry about the

way I acted before.  Once Cal

explained it to me more I was

able to understand.

DIANE: I’m glad.  I don’t enjoy

making enemies.

CALS DAD: Don’t worry.  It’s all

love here.  Since you and Juls

have been hitting it off, it will

be good for us to get to know

you a little better.

[ He gleans, taking a drink from

his dark liquor masquerading on

the rocks. ]

JUILEYN: That’s a great idea.

But for now, let me show you the

rest of the estate.

[ He stands up taking Diane’s hand

leading her toward the back doors.

He opens them & she steps out,

viewing the terrace area. ]

[ Before she can speak, Julieyn comes

up.  Planting his lips softly onto her’s.

They continue to kiss, not noticing that

Caleon is watching them through the

glass. ]

Scene F o u r:

[ 3 M’s Medical Center-MS. ]

[ Earlier, outside Kira’s room. ]

“Are you sure don’t want us to

stay a couple more weeks?

I could change our flights.”

KIRA: I’ll be alright, mom.  You

and dad need to get back home.

Scott and Yaz are going to help

me.

[ She hugs her parents.  Her mom

is teary eyed as they separate &

walk to their car. ]

[ Kira is guided by Scott & they

walk inside. ]

“I don’t think I could be more

ready to get out of here.”

SCOTT: Yeah, I bet.

KIRA: Sleeping in my own bed.

Making my own food.  Getting

back to work.

SCOTT: I know you’re in remiss-

ion now.

[ He cautiously stops. ]

KIRA: What?

SCOTT: Maybe you should take

It slow.  Not get back into it all

at once.

Scene F i v e:

[ A Couple Months Before . . . ]

[ The same young man enters

TA Care, approaching Tiesun at

the reception desk. ]

CUSTOMER: Hello.  I spoke to one of

your assistants on the phone about

registering my kid for after school.

Are you still taking new clients?

TIESUN: Of course. There is some

information that we need to collect

from you.

You can start right here.  Let me know

when you’re done and we can go over

the pricing levels.

CUSTOMER: Thank you.

[ She points to a tablet on the ledge

in front of her & he starts to scroll

through the screens.

Rediki appears from behind. ]

REDIKI: Can I talk to you for a second?

It’s about one of the kids.

[ He asks Tiesun. ]

TIESUN: I’ll be right back.

[ She informs the customer. ]

[ As soon as they are out of sight, he

moves to behind the desk.  Shocked

to see her unlocked computer & desk-

top, now vulnerable for his maniacal

scheme. ]

Scene S i x:

[ Still Julieyn’s Terrace . . . ]

[ Diane is engaged in conversation

with some of the other wives in the

family.

In the distance, Julieyn is playing a

game of cornhole with Caleon. ]

“So, how long have you and

Diane known each other?”

[ Caleon states, tossing the bag

to the other side. ]

JULIEYN: We met at her salon in

January.  Started dating shortly

after that.

CALEON: About as long as me.

JUILEYN: Right, why didn’t you

tell me that you knew her when

I sent you that picture of us last

week?

CALEON: Because of dad.

She stopped coming around after

he overacted the last time.

[ At that same time, Diane has drifted off

on her own.  Exploring the expansive

grounds.

Sipping on her wine, she begins a brisk

jog through the trees. ]

“I wouldn’t go back too far.”

[ She is startled by a man’s deep voice.

A hand is placed on her shoulder and

she jolts back.  Turning around. ]

CALS DAD: Don’t wanna get lost.

Scene S e v e n:

[ Next Day . . .At Mark & Ski’s. ]

MARK: With all this travelling, I feel

like it’s been forever since we ate

out here together.

[ Ski doesn’t speak. ]

MARK: What’s wrong?

SKI: Remember I told you I reached

out to the family who lives right

across the street from Care.

MARK: Oh yeah.  Did they ever

get back to you?

SKI: They did. And you’re not going

to like what I found.

[ Mark looks over at the screen

while Ski presses play.  ]

SKI: You know how you can see

where the box is located from

the street.

Now look who is walking toward

It.

MARK: Wait, that isn’t?

SKI: It is.

MARK: It’s Josh . . .
