With Bitter Certainty: Part 2 (Finale)

scene one:

Behind TA employee lot.

[ Sunshine, Jenni, & Jai are

gathered.  Waiting for Mark. ]

"I'm Mark's son, Jai.  Nice to

meet you.  

[ He smiles, extending his

hand to Sunshine. ]

SUNSHINE: It's my pleasure.

[ She feels confusion but

stays polite. ]

JAI: This is just my brother's

girlfriend.

JENNI: Excuse me I worked at

TA.  Just like you did and for

longer Mister.

SUNSHINE: Not to interrupt but

aren't you two a little young

to be working in a bar?

JAI: What bar?

JENNI: Ohh.  She didn't get

the company email.  

SUNSHINE: We have email?

[ Jai pulls out his cell, points

& begins reading. ]

JAI: Attention employees.  Due

to greater need expressed

through local visitors. The 

new TA building will now

be used for TACare.

[ They watch as Sunshine's

expression changes from

excitement to annoyance. ]

SUNSHINE: I hate kids.

[ Noticing their faces she

wishes she had kept this

information private. ]

SUNSHINE: I mean.  

[ Jai starts to laugh. ]

JENNI: That's great.

SUNSHINE: Just don't tell

your Dad I said that. Okay.

"Don't tell me you said

what."

[ They turn around to see

Mark standing there. ]

scene two:

Night before, inside Charles'.

 "What are you doing here?

Not that I'm not happy to

see you."

[ Charles throws his coat down

& walks into the living room

where Ricky & Hahn are seated. ]

RICKY: We were worried about

you.

CHARLES: Well I appreciate

that.  I found work out of

town so I've been staying at

hotels during the week.

HAHN: Well you're here now

and we're making dinner.

RICKY: Maxx should be by

soon.  You two can catch

up.

CHARLES: Good.  I'll be

down in a minute.

[ He watches them, then

hurries upstairs.  Shutting

the door he throws his

backpack down on the

ground as it unzips.

Piles of cash layer the

ground. ]

[ Hearing someone coming

up the stairs, Charles shovels

it all back in just in time. ]

HAHN: Dinner's ready.

CHARLES:  Thanks.  Do you

mind giving me some time

after?  I'm really worn out.

HAHN: Sure.  No problem bud.

I can take a hint.


scene three:
Present Day, TA Care building.

[ Mark is finally ready for the
meeting. ]

"Glad you're here Dad."

[ Jai walks over beside him. ]

JENNI: Yeah.  We we're just
discussing how our -------

[ Jenni is about to wander with
her words but Jai cuts her off. ]

JAI: How eager we all are to
be working with kids.  Right?

[ Everyone looks at Sunshine
who isn't chiming in. ]

SUNSHINE: Yes. It's a dream.
MARK: Good to hear.  Anyway
we should be able to do more
in a couple weeks when we're
cleared to go inside.
Then everyone can start to
concentrate on their separate
roles.

SUNSHINE: Which are what?

MARK: You will be my general
manager as we discussed. Jai
will be in charge of marketing
and Jenni will run the sitters.

Okay.  I'll email everyone
again when we have a
set schedule in place.

[ Afterwards, Jai finds Sunshine
walking to her car. ]

"Hey.  We're going to do 
great things.  Don't worry."

[ She turns around. ]

SUNSHINE: Oh I'm not.
  
Not anymore.


scene four:

[ Outside after Charles leaves,
Hahn takes the opportunity to
look over a notepad he hid in
his search earlier.

Flipping through the pages
he sees women's names,
different locations, dates,
& times for meeting. ]

[ Quickly, Hahn dials up Maxx. ]

"Hey, are you guys still in
the area?"

MAXX: Yeah man.  What's up?
HAHN: I think Charles may be
in trouble.  The way he was
acting earlier and then I
found a log of his affairs.
MAXX: Affairs, like what?
HAHN: Yes.  He's obviously
been doing more than just
going on dates with these
women.  

And the bag he carries around.
It's all starting to add up.

I'll text you an address.  I'll need
help confronting him but this has
to end tonight.


scene five:
Meanwhile, at Amber's.

[ Dyminic is standing at the
island putting together a salad
for their meal when Amber
comes from behind & covers
his eyes. ]

"Hey, I kind of need those."

[ He smiles as she removes
her hands. ]

AMBER: Sit down.  Entertain
your wife for a second.
DYMINIC: Okay.  Is there some-
thing you need to tell me?
AMBER: Maybe there is.

[ Dyminic places their hands
together. ]

DYMINIC: I actually have to tell
you something too.
AMBER: Oh well go ahead.
DYMINIC: I'm going back to the
practice next week. I think it's
time.
AMBER: You sure your done with
exploring?

DYMINIC: Definitely.  I found out
too much fun isn't a good thing.

What were you gonna say?
AMBER: Nothing babe. I'm just
kind of.  Pregnant!

[ Dyminic tries to speak but is
at a loss for words. ]

AMBER: You should see your
face.


scene six:

[ Maxx & Ricky get out of the car,
meeting Hahn across the street. ]

"I don't think we should bother
them."

[ Ricky states, looking at Hahn. ]

MAXX: Yeah.  Let's just wait for
Charles to come out and then try
and talk some sense into him.

HAHN: I can't believe this is how he's
been paying his way the whole
time.
RICKY: The last thing we want to
do is judge.  It's better to find
the reason why first.  

[ Hahn steps a little away. ]

HAHN: We know the reason.  Sandie.
And his inconsiderate, drug deal-
ing brother.  
MAXX: They were in the wrong but
they also didn't make him do this.

[ Suddenly their conversation is
silenced by the hustle going on
across the street.

They see Charles being carried
out of the building by a police
officer.  Two females being brought
out beside him. ]

[ Hahn starts to head over & Maxx
stops him. ]

MAXX: What are you doing? We
should leave.
HAHN: I have to explain.  Maybe
if I.

RICKY: You can't fix this Hahn.  It's
over.

[ She states, with tears in her eyes.

Maxx shuffles him into the back,
Ricky gets in the passenger seat
& they drive off as Charles is
being taken away. ]

Eyes On You: Part One ( Premiere )

 SCENE ONE :

Morning, street highway between

home & Mirror town.

[ Tiesun is driving her, Larrie &

Zain to the company TA picnic. ]

TIESUN: Judging by the way you're

going through the sucers, I would

assume you didn't eat this morning.

[ He deeply wraps the treat around

his lips, then let's it go.  Making

as much noise as he can. ]

LARRIE: Not at all.  I'm saving up 

for this feast.  There's going to

be an Indian half also.  

TIESUN: I've heard.  

[ She half smirks at his level

of excitement but Larrie is too

involved with his snack to notice.

Zain speaks up from the back. ]

ZAIN: I'll stick to the normal

barbecue, thanks.

TIESUN: I kind of agree.  We'll

see. Though I am excited for

the dances.

[ Tiesun looks over at Larrie out

of the corner of her eye & let's 

out a slight gasp. ]

TIESUN: What are you doing?

[ Larrie slips the candy paper

out of his mouth. Riping a

piece off with his teeth, he

starts to chew on it. ]

LARRIE: What? It still taste

like the candy.

[ He swallows it down as they

sit back in moderate disgust.

Tiesun starts to shake her

head while Zain makes a face

at Larrie in the car mirror. ]

LARRIE: Mmmmmm.

SCENE TWO :

Family Time Park, Mirror.

[ Syria & Hahn are adjusting the 

tables beneath the canopy area

as TA workers begin to arrive. ]

HAHN: Looks great.  I'd say the

extra two hours we spent here

this morning paid off.

SYRIA: Oh dear.  Could you 

look any more distressed when

you say that?

[ He sports an obvious frown. ]

SYRIA: Just messing with you

hun.  I know you get a little

hesitant around crowds.  

[ He smiles & they kiss. ]

HAHN: As long as I get to be

goalie in the game, I'm cool

all day babe.

SYRIA: Remember the kids leave

at 2 so the cases and everything

are locked up in the car.

I'm gonna go see if Sandie needs

any help carrying desserts.  

[ When Hahn can see Syria reach

the other side of the park, he takes

off slowly towards the parking lot. 

Opening the door, he digs around

in the case but is stopped by

a familiar voice. ]

CHARLES: Hey. Did I miss the 

start of hide and go seek?

[ Karie, Ace, Mark, Ski, Amber,
Dyminic, & Hithe are all making
their way through the food line
while Syria & Sandie help serve. 

Hahn & Charles are sitting down
diving into their plates. ]

SYRIA: Feel free to come back
for seconds everyone. There is
plenty.  So Ski will I be seeing
you play later?

[ She brightly smiles & Ski
starts to snicker. ]

SKI: I don't think so. Be happy
to watch though.
AMBER: What are these?

SYRIA: It's called chicken tikka.
Please try some.  

[ Dyminic smiles at her, walking
away to find a table. He passes
by Hahn waving. ]

HAHN: Look at Mr. Smooth over
there on the cycle.
Who is that?
CHARLES: He's Mirror's bakery
manager.

[ They watch as the guy removes
his helmet.  Shaking out his hair,
he steps down.

As he locks his bike, Sandie 
comes over for a chat. ]

"I'm Broderick, nice to meet you."

SANDIE: Pleasure is mine and I'm.
BRODERICK: Please.  You have the
most successful bakery of any TA.

Of course I know you.

[ Sandie's silenced by her humilty. ]


SCENE FOUR :

[ In the field; Charles, Hahn, Mark,
Ace, & Chais are playing against
Kyle, Lorenzo, Dyminic, Kiilyn,
& Pierre. 

Syria is sitting on the lawn with
Amber, Kristyn, & Monica. ]

SYRIA: Didn't think you'd be
getting a free show this
afternoon, did you ladies?
AMBER: Nope but I'm glad.  
Go skins!

[ Everyone laughs.  Inside the
game, Dyminic has the ball &
he's shuffling it down the lawn.

Passing it over to Kyle, then
Kiilyn takes it.  Ace attempts
to block but instead Kiilyn 
sails it toward the goal. ]

MONICA: That's my boy!

[ Hahn looks frustrated as his
team attempts to make it up,
letting Chais drive the ball.

However, his shot is blocked
by Pierre. ]

SKI: Come on Chais!

[ Dyminic gets the ball again
& Hahn prepares himself as
he charges toward him.

Gaining momentum, he offers
a strong kick that grazes Hahn
in the head. ]

HAHN: What the hell?
DYMINIC: Sorry man.  You really
should be wearing a mask. It
was an accident.  You alright?

[ Hahn doesn't speak but when
Dyminic comes closer, he walks
off in the other direction. ]


SCENE FIVE :
Hours later, at Mark & Ski's.

[ Larrie & Ski are relaxing on
recliners about to open their
beers. ]

LARRIE: Tried to get your attention
earlier at the park.  Hahn was
handing out booze before two.
SKI: Oh yeah?  Was that the
reason he stormed off in the
middle of the game?

LARRIE: I guess.  Or he felt
shown up by Dyminic.
Either way it's cool. Added
some sizzle to the barbecue.

[ They both take a drink. ]

SKI: You're crazy man.
LARRIE: You got it. Syria
can get down too.  I wasn't
expecting some of those
moves.
SKI: Right.  Things got
pretty interesting after
the kids left. 

[ Larrie grabs a notepad from
the top of the side table &
rips a small sheet out. ]

SKI: What's up?
LARRIE: Bet I can chew and
swallow down this whole
sheet of paper with no water.
SKI: Yeah right. Go ahead.

[ Suddenly Jai & Kiilyn enter
the front door.  Coming over,
they see Larrie inserting piece
after piece into his mouth. ]

JAI: What on earth?
KIILYN: Yo your friend is fried.

[ They leave, laughing hysterically. ]


SCENE SIX :

[ Syria & Hahn are cleaning up as
guests start to leave the park
area. ]

SYRIA: How's your head?

HAHN: It's fine.  Sorry about the
over reaction.
SYRIA: Well I'm gonna take the
rest of the stuff to the car.

Do me a favor and make sure
no ones still in the pool area.

[ She hands Hahn the keys and
walks away.

Entering into the building now,
Hahn hears voices and stops
behind the wall so he can't
be seen. ]

BRODERICK: I'd love to see your
set up some time.
SANDIE: Well you have my number
now.  Text me when you are
in town.  I can show you lots
of recipes I incorporated too.

 BRODERICK: Great.  I appreciate
it.  I should get going.

[ He looks over at Sandie who is gazing
off until space.  She is brought back
by the touch of his hand on hers. ]


SCENE SEVEN :
Back at Ski & Mark's.

[ Ski & Jai are talking in the
living room. ]

SKI: So how were we?
Not as bad as usual, right?
JAI: At least Larrie kept
his pants on this time.

[ They both laugh. ]

SKI: Speaking of.  He's been
in the bathroom for a long
time now.
JAI: I know.  Bet he didn't
lock it.  Wanna mess with
him?

[ Ski jumps to his feet with
Jai following close behind.
Putting his finger to his lip,
he motions for Jai to be quiet.

Pushing the door in, they see
Larrie laying on the floor holding
his stomach. ]


SKI: Dude, what happened?



Should Larrie slow his roll
or it just harmless fun?

Circle of Chance

SCENE 1:
Sunday Morning, TA Salon.

[ Jeszyca, Karie, & Amber are
talking in the break room. ]

"I just came by to see how
things we're going."

JESZYCA: We're fine.  Lorenzo
doesn't have that many clients
coming in today.
KARIE: Okay.  If not, Sascha is
free and close now.

[ Karie walks toward the door. ]

AMBER: See ya Kare.

JESZYCA: Dyminic came in the
other day.  He's so random.  Even
had other customers rolling.
AMBER: Yeah, it can be a little
draining at times but I love him. 
JESZYCA: I'm happy for you Am.

AMBER: I saw that pic you posted
the other night with the blonde.
She your new girl?
JESZYCA: Not officially no.  She just 
moved to the states.  A friend 
of Renzo's.

[ Suddenly the door swings open hard. ]

JESZYCA: Speaking of her, hey.
AMBER: Well okay then. I'll let you 
two talk.  Hi.

[ She waves and exits as Sunshine
approaces Jeszyca. ]


SCENE 2:
Afternoon, Weis' apartment.

[ Weis starts knocking on
his bathroom door. ]

"Come in."

WEIS: You almost ready?

[ He sits down on the shower
edge while Stuu is fixing his
hair. ]

STUU: Yeah.  You didn't have
to knock weirdo,

[ Weis stands up next to him. ]

WEIS: Is that my gel?  Since when
do you give a crap about what
your hair looks like?
STUU: I don't.  Just trying out 
something different.  You like
it?

[ He places the tub in the 
drawer, turns & walks out.

Later inside Stuu's car, he
notices Weis' gaze on him
as he drives. ]

STUU: What's up? I know you
wanna say something.
WEIS: You're gonna keep your
cool around Landyn, right?
I mean, there was the whole
thing with Larrie at TA.
STUU: That was a misunder-
standing.  I apologized.  
And I'm use to your circle
of exes by now working
with Ski for so long.

WEIS: Hey, that's a little
different.  We're closer friends.
STUU: Not really.  If I'm not on
my best behavior, you can feel
free to spank me.  
WEIS: I'll hold you to that.

[ They laugh as Stuu pulls into
the parking lot. ]


SCENE 3:
Back inside the Break Room.

JESZYCA: I wasn't expecting to
see you until tonight.

[ Jeszyca gets closer but is stopped
by Sunshine. ]

SUNSHINE: This isn't a friendly visit.

[ She backs up, removing her scarf
slowly to reveal a blinding tone
to her hair. Jeszyca looks in awe. ]

SUNSHINE: If you haven't guessed, 
this wasn't what I was going for.

I asked for a more natural blonde.
JESZYCA: I'm sorry.  Lorenzo must
have gotten confused on the color.
He's still learning.
SUNSHINE: This is unacceptable.  I
have an important meeting and I
look like an old shrew.

JESZYCA: I'm sure Lorenzo can fix
this no problem.  I'll go let him
know.  
SUNSHINE: That's alright.  He 
doesn't seem able.  Listen, I like
you a lot.  Hope this doesn't
mess anything up but I'm filing
a complaint.


SCENE 4:
Inside Landyn's.

"So if someone could help
me get this bed frame out
to the truck."

STUU: I got it.

[ Stuu looks at Weis before
disappearing outside. ]

STUU: You're really smooth in
those TA ads.  How'd you get
so comfortable on camera?
LANDYN: I did a little modeling
when I was younger.  Shot
a few for a local store.  

[ They sit the furniture down &
head back inside. ]

WEIS: I'll get the chairs.

[ He whispers to Stuu but doesn't
notice Landyn watching in the
distance. ]

WEIS: See.  It's easy being nice.

[ Stuu pushes Weis as he walks
by.  Landyn looks away.  ]

STUU: Can I ask you a question?

[ He glances out the window
for Weis who is busy lifting
the chairs. ]


SCENE 5:
Meanwhile, at the Salon.

[ Jeszyca & Lorenzo are talking
near his station. ]

JESZYCA: Someone needs to work
on their coloring.

LORENZO: I knew she came in
here to complain.  That's all
she has done ever since me
and Madeline got together.
JESZYCA: Really, is she that
threatened?

LORENZO: Apparently.  I think
she wants to move out too.
I offered to fix it last night.

What else can I do?
JESZYCA: Maybe you should
try giving them their time.
Those girls have been
 through a lot.
LORENZO: That's true.  The last
thing I wanna do is get in the
middle of their friendship.

JESZYCA: Well then go.  Use your
charm in a positive way for once
and talk Sunshine out of that
write up.
LORENZO: Fine.  I'll do it for the
team.

[ He smirks at Jeszyca while head-
ing towards the back. ]


SCENE 6:
Outside of Landyn's.

[ Stuu is waiting in the car while
Weis talks to Landyn. ]

WEIS: Sure you don't need any
help at the condo?

LANDYN: Thanks but Kyle is meet-
ing me there.  We're having a guys
night after.
WEIS: That's cool.
LANDYN: Stuu seems like a nice,
normal guy.
WEIS: Yeah.  What's normal?
LANDYN: Nothing.  It's a good thing.
I'll have you over some time when
I get things settled.

[ Weis joins Stuu in the car. ]

WEIS: Let's go.  Weren't you saying
you wanted to lay down?  Or was
that just an excuse to get in my
bed?

[ Stuu stays silent. ]

WEIS: What's wrong?
STUU: I'm not so good at this dating
thing but since we're for real I
thought I should tell you.

Someone kissed me a little while
ago.  I put a stop to it though.  They
were just drunk, I'm sorry.
WEIS: It's fine.  No big deal.  

[ Weis catches his stare. ]

WEIS: Hey don't be afraid
to tell me anything.  I'll be
cool.
STUU: That's a huge relief 
then because it was Joh.


WEIS: Wait, what?

Just Say No

Morning, inside The Aisles.

[ Amber & Mark are talking

in his office. ]

AMBER: So today is the day.

MARK: Yup. TA is officially

non-smoking including all

employees on premises.

AMBER: Good thing I cut

back a few months ago.

Sucks for the every other

hour smokers though.

MARK: Yeah, I know.

Thanks for taking this

morning shift, by the way.

  Hahn had some emergency

appointment, he said.

AMBER: It's no problem.

I'm enjoying the change.

[ She sits down across

from Mark. ]

MARK: So, how are things

with Dyminic?  Ski told me

you made it official.

AMBER: Geez.  You gossip just

like a woman.

[ They both laugh. ]

AMBER: Anyway, they're great.

We've been living together

for months as friends anyway.

Now we just sleep in the 

same room.  

MARK: I see.

AMBER: Well, I have to run.

I'm meeting Karie & Sascha

at the cafe.

MARK: Cool, tell them I said

hi.

[ Amber leaves. ]

Meanwhile, at the Salon.

[ Acer & Hithe are walking

toward the manager's office. ]

ACE: You sent out the email

about the hiring fair we're

having, right?

HITHE: Of course.  I did it

from home last night.

ACE: Okay good.

[ They arrive in Ace's office

& he sits down, breathing

heavily. ]

HITHE: You alright, man?

ACE: I'm fine.  Just trying to

get a lot done right now

HITHE: I understand.  If you need

any extra help, let me know.

[ Hithe leaves & Karie enters. ]

KARIE: Me and Sascha are about

to leave.  Everything good?

ACE: Honestly, I feel like things

are piling up on me today.

KARIE: I'm sorry.  Why don't you

take a little break?

ACE: I would but I can't smoke

anywhere around here now.

KARIE: You're right.  I forgot.

How will you make it through

the day?  I mean, you can get

very stressed.

ACE: I'll be fine.  I have to be.

I don't wanna hold you up

though.  We can talk after

your lunch. 

[ He smiles while Karie leaves. ]

The Cafe, across from TA.

[ Amber, Karie, & Sascha are

sitting at an outdoor table. ]

AMBER: You're a little too silent.

Is there something you wanna

tell me?

[ Karie takes a gulp of her drink

& then looks up. ]

KARIE: We we're just wondering.

How old exactly is Dyminic?

AMBER: He just turned 40, why?

[ Karie makes a face. ]

AMBER: What? A lot of people

date older.

KARIE: It's 15 years though.  Just

saying.

SASCHA: Not to be cliche but age

is just a number.

AMBER: Yeah.  Mark is ten years

older than Ski. Monica is also

older than Kyle.  Just to name

a few, it's like a TA thing.

[ Amber laughs. ]

KARIE: Still, I don't know.

AMBER: You just have to see

how we are together. You'll

understand.

KARIE: Maybe.

[ They are interrupted by their

food being sat down. ]

Back at the Salon.

[ Acer is looking over a stack

of papers on his desk when

he notices it's still three 

hours before he is off. ]

ACE: God, this day is dragging.

[ There's a knock on the door. ]

ACE: Come in.

HITHE: Hey man.

ACE: How's Lorenzo? We're

not busy, are we?

HITHE: No he's fine.

I do need you to look over

this order for the added

chairs.

[ Acer just looks at him. ]

HITHE: When you get time.

No rush.

[ After Hithe leaves, Acer

is looking through the papers

still, getting frustrated.

Suddenly he let's out a yell, 

tossing each sheet one-by-one

 until his desk is cleared. ]

ACE: Screw this.

[ Grabbing his cigarettes from

inside his desk, he heads out

the back entrance.  Shutting

the door behind him. ]

Later that night.

[ Amber & Dyminic are

talking in her living room. ]

DYMINIC: How was your day

babe?

AMBER: It was okay.

[ She half smiles at him. ]

DYMINIC: Then why the frown?

AMBER: Just Karie didn't seem

to wild about the idea of us.

DYMINIC: Because of my age?

AMBER: Well, yeah.

DYMINIC: Oh well.  Not like it

matters.

AMBER: It does though.  She's one

of my good friends.  That's why I

want you to meet her some time.

DYMINIC: Sure, I love meeting

new people.

AMBER: Great.  Maybe will go

out this weekend.  To a movie

and dinner.

DYMINIC: Sounds good.  Now why

don't you come on over here?

I've been waiting for you to

walk through the door for hours.

[ Amber climbs up on top of him

& they start to kiss passionately. ]

Earlier, behind the Salon.

[ Acer is settled into his smoke,

looking around to make sure no

one else is in the parking lot.

Back inside the Aisles, Mark

is reading an email. ]

"Before you leave do another

security run.  Remember anyone

caught smoking on the premises

will be issued a final warning"

[ Looking over the cameras, Mark

gets to back parking lot.  He sees

someone down there.

Zooming in he realizes it's his

best friend Acer, putting out

his cigarette. ]

MARK: Oh no.
