" The Letter A (conclusion) "

[ Stuu wakes up realizing
its light outside. ]

'Shit!'

[ He sits up and grabs
his phone. ]

[ On the other side of town,
 Joh and Weis are walking
into MSCC. ]

JOH: Dude.  You got
the stuff?
WEIS: You mean this
sexy survey brought
to you by the new
LGBTA.
JOH: Yup.  Since
when is there an
A anyway, right?

[ They both laugh. ]

WEIS: Stop number
ten.  You really have
to empty all these?
JOH: Yes.  Well if
you know who had
shown his face
I wouldn't be
doing it alone.
WEIS: Oh.  Maybe the
frat will teach him
a lesson by spanking
him with that big
paddle. They still have
those right?

[ Joh shakes his head. ]

WEIS: As for Stuu's
crazy behavior,
you shouldn't be
surprised.
Running away
seems to be his
forte.

JOH: Last semester?
Yeah sure.  But
Stuu has changed.

Well, we better get
 a seat.

[ Joh walks into class
as a survey falls out
from his bag. ]

'Hey, you dropped
this.’

[ Weis sees a familar
name on the top and
skips to his answer
for Question 1. ]

D. Never

SCENE 2

‘You’re serious,
a script?’

MARK: Don’t be so
modest Lando, I’m
familiar with your
past work.

[ He pulls out an old
underwear ad and
sits it in on the
desk. ]

LANDYN: So I did
some shitty prints for
a non-existent store
what’s your point?
MARK: The point is I
want to use this newly
discovered talent of
yours to take our store
to the next level.
LANDYN: By doing
what exactly?
MARK: We’re launching
a series of commercials
and you’re going to be
our spokesperson.
LANDYN: Right. And this
definitely won’t put me
on a one-way trip back
to crazy town.
MARK: You’ll be fine.
Trust me.  Now I have
some scenes I want
you to look over.
We’re doing some
test shoots in about

[ Hands Landyn papers
and looks at his watch. ]

‘Three hours.’

LANDYN: What?
MARK: Just look these
over and I’ll see you
then. Gotta go help
 up front.

SCENE 3

‘Hey nerd.  Thanks
for the warning.’

[ Stuu looks around
as Joh walks up. ]

STUU: Sorry I over-
slept bro. Had a late
night.
JOH: Sure. Was there
some all-night science
marathon on TV?

[ Joh laughs, then
stops at Stuu’s
serious expression. ]

JOH: What’s up?
STUU: Look, I should
probably tell you
now that. . .
JOH: Something
happened with you
 and Weis, didn’t it?
STUU: Well, yes
and no.
JOH: What does
that mean?
STUU: It means, I
freaked out and
stopped him.
JOH: Okay, so it
was your first
time. You were
nervous, right?
STUU: I wish that
was it.  Truth is
I could’ve done it.

And that is scaring
me shit less.

SCENE 4

[ Landyn enters the
back room and sees
the set up for the
commercial. ]

‘Right on time.’

MARK: This is Kyle.
He’ll be holding the
cue cards for you.

I’ll be sitting
here directing.
 Just focus on the
camera and your
lines, you got it?
LANDYN: Sure thing
boss.

[ He rolls his eyes
and walks behind
the counter. ]

[ Outside the store,
Ace sees Amber
sitting on the bench. ]

ACE: I see the back
room is blocked off.
What’s Mark got up
his sleeve now?
AMBER: Who knows.
I thought I’d never
get out here for
a break.

[ She takes a hit of
her cigarette as
Ace starts to yawn. ]

ACE: Sorry. I’ve been
up since 5 and Hithe
would pick the day
before the Salon open
to leave early.
AMBER: Yeah, he’s
been weirder than
usual lately.
Well, break’s done.

Tell Karie I said hi.

SCENE 5

‘CUT!’

MARK: It’s faster,
fresher, friendlier.

That’s the motto!
LANDYN: With all the
money you’ve spent
you should’ve hired
a writer too.

[ Mark smirks. ]

‘Just take it from
the top wise ass.’

[ Landyn starts to
read his lines when
suddenly a man with
a white coat and a
women burst through
the door. ]

‘Dr. Abrams?
Dani?’

MARK: Hello?
I ‘m the one who
says cut here.
DR. ABRAM: Sorry to
Interrupt your pro-
duction Sir, but your
star here broke out
of our facility three
days ago.

SCENE 6

[ 15 minutes until
night shift at the
Aisles. ]

  JOH: Just because
you’re asexual or
whatever doesn’t
mean it’s over.
STUU: Yeah right.  We
both know Weis is
well. . .experienced.
JOH: Yeah, and maybe
It doesn’t matter.
Just talk to him when
he’s gets here.  Give
it a chance.

[ Stuu heads outside.
Meanwhile Weis pulls
into the back lot with
a stranger. ]

‘Thanks for the ride
and the green. You
didn’t have to drop
me off.’

TREY: Not a problem.
Anything for a loyal
customer.

[ He laughs and Weis
starts to get his stuff. ]

TREY: Wait, there’s a
reason why I dropped
you off here.

[ Weis turns around. ]

[ 5 minutes later Stuu
enters the back lot.
Looking over he sees a
stranger kissing Weis.
As they climb over
into the back seat
and continue all he
can do is stand there. ]

" The Letter A " (Premiere)

SCENE 1

’Thanks for
helping out bro.
I think that’s
everything.’

STUU: Can’t believe
you're leaving Dad’s
and moving in with
Anna.
That’s 64.15 miles
away from me
by the way.
MAC: I’m sure it is.
Anyway. . .Do I need
to explain to you the
benefits of a live in
girlfriend?
STUU: Please don’t.
MAC: Two words.

Easy access.

[ Mac laughs and Stuu
hits him in his arm. ]

MAC: You’re getting
better at that I see.
Well, I should
get going.
STUU: Okay. See you
on break, I guess.

[ Mac leaves. Stuu
sits on the couch
looking at his
phone. ]

SCENE 2

[ Joh is walking down
the hospital hallway
when he’s startled
by his cell ringing. ]

‘Crap!’

NURSE: Sir, your phone
should be off back here.
JOH: Sorry.

[ He continues on
until he sees Airynn
laying in bed through
the glass. ]

‘Dude, what
happened?’

[ Airynn sits up and
takes off his air
mask. ]

AIRYNN: I was jumped
in the park a couple
nights ago.
JOH: What were you
doing there?
AIRYNN: Just bored.
Taking a walk. Anyway,
the surprise caused me
to have a severe asthma
attack.
I couldn’t breathe well,
but thankfully I was
able to call 911
before I passed out.

[ He faintly smiles. ]

JOH: Why would
someone randomly
do that to you?

SCENE 3

‘Coming up next on
the Science Channel
our in-depth study
of Atoms.’

STUU: Damn repeat.

‘Today on InTalk
we’re discussing
sexual behavior.
Who wants it more?
Who wants it less?
And some. . .’

[ Stuu shuts the TV
off just as his Dad
walks in. ]

STUU: Hey I was
just helping Mac
with the last of his
stuff.

[ He grabs his bag. ]

STUU’S DAD: Its
fine son. You don’t
have to rush off.
STUU: I got stuff to
do. I’ll see ya.

SCENE 4

[ At TA ]

‘I have a new hire
coming in ten
minutes. You’ll
be okay for an
hour?’

AMBER: Sure. Tell
me it’s another
assistant manager.
MARK: Nope. Sorry.
Page if you need me.

[ Mark walks over
and starts talking
to someone. ]

[ Later in his
office. ]

MARK: So, you just
got out of rehab?
STRANGER: Yup.
Just this morning.
MARK: Well, normally
I don’t discuss this but
some things on your
background we’re
questionable.
STRANGER: I know.
But I’m not my past.

If you give me this chance,

I can show you.

SCENE 5

[ Stuu is laying down
in bed at his Mom’s
playing with a
Rubik’s cube. ]

‘Incoming Call. . .Joh’

STUU: If it isn’t
Sir Absence.
JOH: Sorry dude.
I got meetings, service
and school stuff going
on right now.  Been busy.
STUU: Yeah, I know.
You heard from Weis
any?
JOH: Not today. He
told me you ran off
the other night at
work. Why?

[ Stuu sits up. ]

STUU: We ran into
each other on the
bus one night and
I think he got the
wrong idea.
JOH: Maybe dude.
You could just ask
him, you know?
Anyway, the frat wants
us to hand out flyers
Monday. I’ll e-mail
you the info.

SCENE 6

‘Let’s take a
walk.’

[ Mark and his
new hire are
walking to the
door. ]

STRANGER: So,
what exactly will
I be doing?
MARK: Don’t worry.
I have a special

it Monday morning.

SCENE 1

‘Excuse me.
You’re
doing what?’

ACE: It was his
money Mark. I
don’t really have
a choice.
MARK: Oh, you
had a choice. And
after everything
I’ve done. Going
behind my back?

SKI: Maybe you
should discuss this
in private.

[ Mark looks up and
everyone pretends
to be talking. ]

MARK: It’s fine.
You guys enjoy
the party.

I’ve had enough.

[ After he leaves. ]

SKI: Sorry about
that. Mark should
never drink.
ACE: I know
but he’s right.
I’ll just have to
find someone
else.

[ He sits down
by Hithe. ]

HITHE: Listen, I’ve
been on Mark’s
bad side before.
I can fix this.

SCENE 2

‘This is Kory,
DeAndre, and
Trae.’

MARISA: Hello boys.

[ Trae steps up. ]

TRAE: Hey sexy.

[ She waves
nerviously. ]

MARKIS: Well, I
have work to
get done.

[ He smirks and
walks downstairs. ]

MARISA: Alright,
listen up. It’s already
12 so we better
get moving. Is
everyone ready?
TRAE: Girl chill
out. We got this.
You just work
on convincing
your boy to
show.
MARISA: Oh,
he’ll show.

That asshole
will never see
this coming.

SCENE 3

[ Ski bolts out
the back door
passing by Weis
and Stuu. ]

WEIS: How’s the
party going?

[ Ski turns around. ]

SKI: Not well.
Have you seen
Mark?
WEIS: Yup, in his
office.
SKI: Thanks.

[ When he leaves. ]

STUU: So, why are
you hiding that we
made up from Joh?
WEIS: I just assumed
you didn’t want
him to know.
STUU: That we ran
into each other on
the bus and walked
around town?
Some big secret.

[ Weis looks puzzled. ]

WEIS: Yeah, that.
STUU: Well, I should
give Joh a break.
See ya.

[ Stuu walks away
shaking his head. ]

SCENE 4

‘Hey loser!’

[ Airynn wakes up
laying on the
couch with a
pillow in his face. ]

AIRYNN: Billy!
I’m gonna beat
your ass.
BILLY: Do it then.

[ He laughs and
sits down. ]

BILLY: Only
lames stay
home alone
on a Saturday
night. Where’s
your homies?

[ Airynn ignores
him. ]

BILLY: Oh wait.
That’s right.
Everyone’s
dumped you.

[ Airynn’s cell
starts to ring. ]

‘Marisa. . .hey.
No, I’m not
busy now.

You wanna
see me? Sure.
On my way.’

AIRYNN: Later
chump.

[ He grabs the
pillow throwing
it at his brother. ]

SCENE 5

[ In Mark’s office. ]

MARK: So, I took
a look at your
upgrades.
HITHE: How did
you get
MARK: Inside?
You forget this
is my store.
Should I ask
how on earth
you can afford
all that?
HITHE: I’ve been
saving. . .for a while.

Anyway, you
should cut Ace
some slack.
He doing the best
he can. It’s more
my fault I guess.
MARK: I’m glad
you’ve realized.
Are you trying
to get fired
again?
HITHE: No. There’s
a reason I’m the
only one in here
braving your
current state.
MARK: What,
enlighten me.

HITHE: Why don’t
I just work in both
places?
I mean, you have
lots of people who
could step up.
I’ll even train them.

SCENE 6

[ Outside at a local
park. ]

MARISA: Ok he
should be over
here any minute.
You know what
to do.
I’ll be in the car.

[ Trae, DeAndre, and
Kory are waiting in
the dark. Suddenly
they hear footsteps
getting closer. ]

‘Marisa?’

[ Airynn sits down
on the park bench.
Getting out his cell
he doesn’t notice
Trae coming up
behind him. ]

‘Hey!’

[ He turns around
and backs up. ]

AIRYNN: Who the
hell are you?
TRAE: A messenger.

[ The bench is flipped
over and Airynn is
staring at a mask.
He tries to get up,
but he’s kicked in
the face. As the other
two hold him down,
he starts to panic. ]

[ They stand him
to face Trae, but
before he can hit
him Airynn falls to
the ground holding
onto his chest. ]

‘This wasn’t part
of the plan.
Let’s go.’

[ Airynn is left
there shaking
on the ground. ]

SCENE 7

[ At the party. ]

AMBER: Well, you
look vibrant and
alive. Even at
almost three in
the morning.
JESZYCA: Thanks,
and congratulation
on your promotion.

[ Amber motions for
Ski to come over. ]

AMBER: So Ace is
about to cut the
ribbon do you think
Mark will show?

[ Ski shrugs. ]

ACE: It’s been a
very long night.
Let’s not prolong
this any longer.

[ He half smiles
and leans down
to cut the ribbon.
Everyone starts to
clap and he walks
away. ]

MARK: Ace.

[ He hands him
a glass of wine. ]

‘What’s this?’

MARK: A peace
offering.
Maybe I was
looking at this
in the wrong way.
ACE: Yeah, and
I should’ve asked
you first.

MARK: Oh well,
let’s toast.

To the better
business!

[ They hit glasses
and Mark smirks. ]

SCENE 1

[ Early morning
there’s a knock
on Mark’s office
door. ]

‘Come in.’

ACE: Hey Mark.
MARK: What’s up?
ACE: Just wanted to
clear up some things
about the Salon
opening.
MARK: Sure. Only
seven days left.
You ready?
ACE: Yup. I hired
some of my girl’s
stylist friends.
New furniture is
coming at one.
MARK: That’s great
ACE: Yeah, I’m pretty
excited.
MARK: So, you worked
out the finance issue
with Jim?
ACE: Not exactly.
That’s actually
what I wanted
to talk to you

[ Mark’s phone rings. ]

MARK: Sorry man.

[ Ace gets up. ]

ACE: It’s cool.
I’ll just tell you
later.

[ Ace leaves. Walking
through the back door
he bumps into someone
coming in ]

SCENE 2

‘What are you
doing here?’

HITHE: The delivery
needs a signature.
And since you’ve
been M.I.A. all
morning they
called me.

ACE: Sorry. I just
got a lot on my
mind right now.
HITHE: Well, you
got my transfer
approved right?
Mark knows I’m
. . .leaving.
ACE: Not quite.

[ They continue
walking. Passing
by Kristyn, she rolls
her eyes at Hithe. ]

‘He makes me
sick.’

MONICA: I know. You
think he told Ace
how he’s getting
the money?
KRISTYN: Doubt it.
Of course Amber
got the promotion.
MONICA: Yeah, I
know. Kyle’s in an
uproar over it.
KRISTYN: He really
thought he had it?
MONICA: Girl, I guess.

SCENE 3

“Everything is
top of the line.
I’m putting you
ahead before we
even open.”

ACE: Wow these
chairs alone must
have cost a fortune.
Are you sure we
can afford this?
HITHE: My man,
Acer. Everything
here is good.
All we need now
is to finagle that
transfer out of
Mark.

ACE: Well, that’s
easier said than
done.
HITHE: Right. I
should probably
leave. Later.

[ Hithe exits the Salon
walking outside onto
the parking lot. ]

‘Hithe! Hold on.’

[ He slowly turns. ]

HITHE: Mark, hey.
MARK: Glad you
stopped by. You’re
the last one on my
list.
HITHE: List?
MARK: Yeah, I’m
throwing Ace a
surprise opening
party tonight
Be here at ten?
HITHE: Uh. . .
sure.
Sounds great!

SCENE 4

[ Meanwhile there’s
a sudden knock on
Markis’ back door. ]

‘Can I help. . .’

[ Tiesun sees Marisa
smiling back at her. ]

TIESUN: What are
you doing here?
MARISA: I need to
talk to Markis. It’s
kind of important.
TIESUN: Oh I’m
sure. Thing is. . .
we don’t just let
any random
person walk up
in here.

MARKIS: Whose
at the door?
TIESUN: See
for yourself.

[ She walks away. ]

MARKIS: Marisa,
right?
To what do I owe
the pleasure?
MARISA: I have
a favor to ask
of you.
MARKIS: Okay?
MARISA: Yes. It
has to do with a
certain ex-friend
of yours.
My ex-boyfriend.
He did us dirty.
And now we need
to execute our
revenge.

SCENE 5

[ Nightshift at
Aisle 6n9. ]

‘Can you believe
there’s a party
going on upstairs
and we’re out here
watching the store?’

STUU: Yay for being
underage, right?
WEIS: Yup.
JOH: Well, I’ve been
assigned up front.

[ He starts walking. ]

JOH: Try not to kill
each other while
I’m gone.

[ Meanwhile upstairs. ]

‘Hey Kristyn, Monica,
Kyle. . .’

[ Kyle rolls his eyes
as Mark walks past
him. ]

MARK: Thanks for
coming everyone.

[ He finishes his
glass of wine as
Amber approaches. ]

MARK: You talked
to Karie, right?
They are coming.
AMBER: Of course.

She’s texting me
when they get
here.

SCENE 6

‘Let me get this
straight. . .’

MARKIS: You want
to hire my boys to
scare Airynn for
you.
MARISA: Oh, not
just scare.
I want him so
terrified that he
begs for our
forgiveness.
.MARKIS: What are
we gonna do
exactly?
Run up on him
and yell boo.

[ He laughs. ]

MARISA: This isn’t
a damn joke.
I’m serious.
Don’t you have
guns or something?
MARKIS: Really?
No, but if you
wanna end this
I have a better
idea.

SCENE 7

‘Did you really need
chips and salsa
this late at night?’

KARIE: You know
me and my cravings.

[ She comes behind
him and puts on
a blindfold. ]

ACE: Hey. You
remember what
happened the
last time I was
like this?

[ She laughs. ]

KARIE: Just
follow me.

[ Leading him up
the stairs they walk
into a dark room
and Karie turns on
the light. . . ]

‘SURPRISE!!!’

[ Ace sees everyone
standing there and
Mark walking toward
him. ]

MARK: When we first
had the idea to open
the Salon, Jim wasn’t
too sure about
hiring you.
But I convinced him.
And now you’re six
days until opening.

Congratulations Ace,
you did it.

[ Mark takes a sip
of wine, handing
Ace a glass. ]

ACE: Listen, Mark.
I have something
to tell you.

[ The party goes silent. ]

ACE: I’m taking Hithe
with me.
