Scene One:
[ Friday Night, Kiilyn’s Place. ]
[ Tori, Jai, & Kaori are sitting around
his dining room table. Retrieving the
delivery packages from outside the
front door, Kiilyn joins them. ]
TORI: You’ve never had any Indian
food before?
JAI: Nope, never.
TORI: Well, you’re in for a treat.
KAORI: I’ve tried to get him to
expand his taste some.
KIILYN: We know. It’s pointless.
JAI: Hey! I like what I like. Nothing
wrong with that. Besides we’re cater-
ing to Kay’s cravings tonight.
[ Kay smiles, holding a forkful of
her butter chicken entree. ]
TORI: The bread looks divine!
So, when is your due date?
KAORI: December 11th.
TORI: You excited to have a Jai
copycat running around?
KAORI: More like nervous.
[ They continue chatting as Kiilyn
zones out, rustling around the mini
box in his pocket. ]
Scene Two:
[ Meanwhile, MS Banquet Center. ]
[ Ski peers around the room at his
fall foliage table settings and decor.
As Hithe sits the last of the chairs
down, completing his vision. ]
“Finally, we’re done!”
SKI: Thanks. Now that everything
is set up I’m hoping tomorrow
night can bring some of the tension
with the family down. And we can
learn to enjoy ourselves again.
Ever since Josh got locked up Mark
and I have been treated differently.
Especially by his Dad.
AMBER: Well, it’s not your fault!
SKI: I know but others don’t see
it that way.
HITHE: He broke in and cost the
store a lot of money. What did
they expect would be the out-
come?
I just can’t believe he got two
years for a first offense.
SKI: Yeah, it could have been
longer.
AMBER: I know you feel bad
but you did what you had to
do. Sorry but he needed to suffer
the consequences for his actions.
HITHE: And once he gets out, I’m
sure he will have long learned his
lesson.
SKI: Yeah, I hope so. But what if
he decides to take a different
route.
Scene Three:
[ Across Town, At TA Kutz. ]
[ Inside Acer’s office he’s on
a phone call. ]
“You ready for tomorrow night?
UNKNOWN: Yes, it’s been ages
since I’ve been back in Magic
Springs.
ACE: I know. Ever since covid
happened and TA got rid of
the night shift.
Everything is set for the soiree.
I even got a big enough box to
house your enormous body.
UNKNOWN: Really? I thought you
we're joking about that.
ACE: Nope. Ski is gonna be pumped!
UNKNOWN: And don’t worry, I kept
it a secret when we talked.
ACE: Thanks! I bet this gift tops
whatever Mark has in store for
his graduation.
UNKNOWN: I see it’s still a competition
between you two. Nothing ever changes
around TA, does it?
ACE: Actually some things do. See ya.
[ Ace hangs up, lounging back in his
chair. ]
Scene Four:
[ Return To Kiilyn’s, Late Night. ]
[ Tori is lying in bed, getting herself
situated when Kiilyn appears in the
doorway.
Smiling, he careens himself onto
the bed next to her. ]
TORI: So aggressive!
[ She laughs. ]
KIILYN: Now can you tell me
where we’re going?
TORI: No! You got to plan last
weekend. It’s my turn to surprise
you.
I’ll just say, it’s something that you
have always wanted to do.
KIILYN: Well, that’s not helping me
at all.
TORI: Perfect then.
[ An hour later, Tori is fast asleep &
Kiilyn is out on his balcony. ]
KIILYN: Look, I know we’ve only
been dating for six months but I
love Victoria.
I’m going to ask her soon.
JAI: I still think you should talk to
her first. See where her heads at
as far as long term goes.
If I’ve learned anything being with
Kay, it’s to . . .
KIILYN: Now is the right time.
Anyway, I’ll talk to you when I
get back in town. Tell Ski I said
congratulations!
Scene Five:
[ Ski’s Grad Soiree, Following Afternoon. ]
[ Ski, Monica, & Amber are standing
near the entrance talking as people
arrive. ]
MONICA: What’s going on, Ski?
You went through all this work
and don’t seem very excited.
AMBER: Yeah, are you still worried
about the family?
SKI: No. I doubt any of them would
show up to act a fool.
I got some bad news today.
The IT company that I interned for
said they would have a job lined
up for me in Mirror but it fell
through.
MONICA: Awe, that’s too bad.
AMBER: I’m sorry to hear that.
SKI: Yeah, so it back to the drawing
board for me, I guess.
AMBER: Maybe you could do something
at TA. After the breach, we could
really use some help in that area.
[ Ski looks out into the parking lot
seeing Mark’s parents approaching. ]
“Hey Dad! Mom!”
[ He warmly greets them, but they
walk off barely acknowledging
him. ]
MONICA: Well! That was cold.
Scene Six:
[ 3M’s Airline, Early Eve. ]
[ Kiilyn & Tori exit their ride
share. Kiilyn is blindfolded. ]
“Can I take this off now? I can
tell we’re at the airport.”
TORI: Go ahead.
I have a family friend who owns
a private jet.
KIILYN: No way!
TORI: Tonight. We’re going to
Vegas!
[ Kiilyn hugs onto her & they
kiss. ]
[ He grabs the bags as Tori
leads the way. ]
[ Later on, they are seated on
the plane. ]
TORI: Well, get a drink once
we get in the air. It will help
you relax some.
KIILYN: It’s all good.
[ He puts his arm around her. ]
TORI: Clubs stay open later
there so we’ll have plenty of
time to explore.
KIILYN: Sounds great babe!
Final Scene:
[ Inside The Soiree. ]
[ After dinner is done, Ski & Hithe
take the opportunity to approach
Mark’s father. ]
HITHE: Hey, it’s pretty rude of you
to show up to someone’s celebration
with such a horrible attitude.
SKI: It’s okay, Hithe. I can handle this.
Look, I’m sorry about what happened
to Josh.
I know how much it pains you both
to have to see him behind bars.
[ They just look at him but don’t speak. ]
[ Acer approaches, not reading the room. ]
ACE: Hey, I think it’s time for you to
open that present I brought you.
[ Ski shakes his head joining the group
gathered by the gift table. ]
[ Back At The Airport. ]
[ The plane takes off smoothly into the
night sky. ]
[ Tori & Kiilyn are spooning about to
turn on a movie when the inside goes
dark & they feel everything suddenly
start to shake. ]
KIILYN: What’s going on?
[ He barely gets out as they feel the
plane take a dive, falling toward the
ground. ]
